Story slid the dress over her head, sighing. It was the day of Michael's funeral. Everyone was currently getting ready. "Story everything will be okay. Luke's not fussy and he's sleeping, so he won't be a probl-" She heard Calum's voice, but it cut off as he walked into the room. "Thank youCal. You've been so helpful with Luke here lately. I don't know how to thank you." Story said looking in the mirror at Calum. Who had stopped speaking because for the first time in two weeks Story's eyes weren't red-rimmed and she was smiling just a little. "It's okay, you don't have to thank me. Michael would want me to help you. He'd want all of us to help you. And we will, for as long as you need us." He said to her sitting on the edge of the bed. Story nodded, took a deep breath, and said, "I know he would. It's just gonna be hard for a little while. I can't look at Luke without seeing him. Luke's got his eyes you know." Story admitted fixing her hair in the mirror. Calum agreed, Luke really did have Michael's eyes. Calum knew how Story felt; he too had lost his love. "It never goes away, does it, Calum?" She said to him after a few moments of silence and him watching her fix her hair. "The pain." She clarified when their eyes met in the mirror. Calum sighed and shook his head. "It doesn't. Some days you'll be happy, but then you'll feel guilty for being happy. But no, the pain doesn't leave you. It doesn't lessen and it never stops."

Story nodded and sighed, "Better get to the church, it's almost time."
