Michelle's POV

My Mom and I have been in Last Push for three days. I have gotten to know my family a little better. Jared and I have become close. He has helped me to deal with a lot. And for that I will be forever in his debt.

As i was slowly waking up, I hear my bedroom door open, looking up I see Jared standing in the doorway with a smile on his face. He said, "Morning". As he realized that I was awake. I sat up in my bed, saying, "Morning Jay". He told me, "Get dressed". "We are going out to eat". I nodded my head as I stood up, he walked out.

After taking a shower, I got dressed in a pair of jean shorts and a tank top. Sliding on a pair of sandals, I brush my hair and teeth before going downstairs. Walking into the living room, I see Jay waiting on the couch. Before I could ask where my Mom was, he told me that she was with his parents at Billy Blacks house.

Instead of taking Jays truck, he said that we would walk to his friend's house. I turned my head to look at him, I thought that we was going out for breakfast. Jay nodded his head, "We are". As we approached a pretty cottage that was set back against the woods, I could hear laughter and loud voices. Instinctively my hands clenched at my sides as they began to sweat.

As I followed Jay up the steps, my mouth had fallen open as he had walked in as though he owns the place. Silently I followed him in. Staying close. I have never been comfortable around people that I dont know. My experiences with people back home had taught me not to trust people at an early age.

As I followed Jay into a warm kitchen I saw six oversized buff guys. And a beautiful woman with three scars running along her left side of her face. As Jay and I walked in, all of the talking stopped as they turned to look at us.

I had seen a lot of great looking guys back home in Seattle, but none had looked like these six guys. To say that I am intimidated, would be an understatement. I stay close to Jay as he introduces me to the guys. He starts with Sam and his fiancee Emily as he goes around the table pointing to each guy. I give them all a small smile and a nod as I look at each of them. Jay tells me that three of his friends are not here. But he hopes that they will return soon.

As Emily offers me a plate, I smile at her and offer her a quiet Thank you. As we eat, I watch the interaction between the guys. They appeared as a big family with their familiarity of each other. After we had finished eating, Jay told me that he would be back as he and the guys left. I stood up from the table as Emily gathered the dishes. Offering to help her wash them, Emily politely shook her head. Saying that she would get them if I would keep her company.

Strangely I felt at home in this small house. I was able to talk openly with Emily. There was no judgement in her features as I told her about some of my past. In those few hours that I spent with Emily, I learned a lot about her. I finally had a friend to call my own.
