Chapter 19

Aphmau's POV

I got off of Garroth and helped him up. 

"I'm so sorry about that." He said blushing.

"It's fine, that wasn't your fault."

Things were king of awkward from then on, we decided to part ways. After 30 minutes of looking for fire wood, we all headed back to our campsite. I gathered 1 log and a few sticks, we counted everyone to make sure they were all there. We were missing someone, it was Laurance. People said not to worry about it because he's a strong man that can take care of himself. This is true, but it doesn't stop me from worrying. Everyone seems to be in high spirits, I stayed as positive as I could. Even though I was very uneasy. We roasted marshmallows and told creepy stories, one of Zane's stories was probably the scariest. It was nearing midnight so we all headed to our tents to sleep, I couldn't sleep for the longest time. After trying to sleep for hours, I noticed everything was silent and only breathing, snoring, and crickets could be heard. It was creepy and I felt afraid in the tent being the only one awake. I opened my phone to check the time, the brightness hurt my eyes but it was 3:08 am. I sighed and shut off my phone, I'm going for a walk. I stood up and quietly grabbed the flashlight from the bag I had at my feet. I had to be extra quiet because Zane was hugging the bag in his sleep. I pulled out the flashlight and grabbed my phone, I then put on a sweater and exited my tent. 

I crept over the grass on the campsite, trying my best to make my footsteps as quiet as possible. The forest would be scary at night so I will walk on the edge of it. Once I'm at the edge of the forest, I turn on my flashlight. This way, no one from the camp will know that I'm out. I walk around the forest, as I'm walking I realize that there's a giant hill on the side of the forest. Either I keep walking on the edge and fall down this pit, or I walk into the creepy forest. I could just turn and go back but... something is telling me not to. I made my decision and am now walking into the forest.

I was right, this forest is probably one of the creepiest places I've ever been this late at night! Hopefully I find something that was worth this trip. As I'm walking through the forest, I start to loose track of which way is where. I then check my pocket for my phone because it has a compass, it's not there. I frantically search my pockets on my shorts and sweater, I give up and continue walking. I get to a tough part of the forest where I have to squeeze between trees, as I was walking toward this area, I hear a strange boar like noise come from behind me. Scared, I run through this area. Luckily I didn't scrape my arm but my sweater got caught on a branch and was pulled off. It's pretty cold so this isn't good. I'm lost in the forest, without my phone or sweater, and who knows when this flashlight is going to die.

I continue walking through the forest when I come to a small clearing, this clearing had a cave in it. Of course, the cave was dark. As I walked closer to the cave, I felt... at ease.... when I thought that'd I would feel afraid. I walked into the cave more calmly now, it had dry walls and didn't seem to go far. I walked to the end of a small hallway to see a turn. I knowingly peeked around the turn, hoping not to see anything creepy. To my surprise, I didn't see anything. My flashlight was off, I walked into the small area that I couldn't see from behind the wall. In the corner I see a figure, I turn on the flashlight and I see a person laying on the ground in the cave. My heart skips a beat as I look at their face, it was Laurance and his cheeks were stained with tears.

"Laurance!" I yell and drop my flashlight. I stand there and cover my mouth. He opens his eyes and sits up slightly.

"Aphmau?" I hear him mumble. 

I run over to him as fast as I could, it hasn't been long but I was so worried. 

"Laurance I--"

He hugged  me and I hugged him, we sat in the dark cave hugging for what felt like forever. I didn't want the moment to end. I ran my fingers through his hair.

"I was so worried.." I whispered, we hugged tighter.

After hugging for awhile, he finally said something,

"What about you.. and Garroth?"

"What about us?"

"I saw.. you both.. in the woods..." Laurance seemed to sound extremely upset.

"N-no! H-he fell and I fell too so--" I frantically said as we parted the hug.

"Good.. I'm glad.. because.. you know that I love you.. and would hate to loose you, especially to my best friend." He said.

I leaned on the wall beside him.

"Though... why were you two with each other in the first place?" He asked.

"Y'know.. just looking for fire wood and bumped into each other." I said with a sigh.

"Ah... why are you here now?"

"B-because... I was so worried and was completely restless thinking you were stuck out here in the forest.. alone."

It was silent for awhile, then I spoke,

"Laurance... I love you too." I said.

His eyes widened and he seemed completely filled with joy. I smiled and put my arms around his neck in a deep kiss. I parted our kiss and stood up, I then extended my hand to him.

"Let's go." I said.

"No... let's stay here for awhile... alone." He grabbed my hand and pulled my back down beside him. I giggled and smiled, he kissed my forehead and I rested my head on his shoulder. We are using his jacket as a small blanket. I lift my head and kiss his cheek, I lay my head back down and close my eyes. We both fell asleep in the cave, together.

*sigh* Fan girl much? This is my apology chapter! It's me being sorry for everything I've done... like being annoying and never posting! I love you all! I haven't encountered any haters on this as of now, but then again.. no haters at all yet! Is it bad I'm excited to see if there'll be haters? Probably! Like I've already mentioned, I love you all!
