It was a few hours before Adam and I left for Florida. I had convinced Adam to let me drive to my sister’s house, alone. I had parked the car in front of her house in case I needed a quick escape. I waked onto my sister’s porch and knocked on the door. Within a few seconds Nicole answered.

All the color drained from her face, “Come in,”

I walked into her house and sat down in the living room. Nicole nervously followed me, “What brings you here?”

Just before I answered Nicole’s mate, Jimmy, walked in, “What’s going on?”

“Why don’t you take a seat?” Jimmy gave a questionable look to Nicole.

“Can you tell me why you’re here?” Jimmy tried not to sound threatening.

“You probably know what happened to my mate, Darin, right?” The both nodded, “Turns out Darin has been with several women. He even had five kids and got married to one of the women. I knew that Darin was with other women; so one night I followed him to one of the woman’s houses. He led me here. I was informed that Nicole has two of his children,”

“You’re lying! Why would I cheat on my mate?” Nicole yelled.

“Why would I lie about something like this?” I yelled back.

“Jimmy, you don’t believe this do you?” Nicole cried.

“Why would she lie, Nicole. I think I believe her! I’ve been feeling pains for the longest time; now I know what the cause is!” Jimmy hissed.

“No, Jimmy! Plea-“

“No, Nicole, this is over!”

“What about the children?” Nicole cried.

“I don’t care if two of the children are with Darin; I still love all of them! They’re staying with me; so get your ass out of here!” Jimmy yelled. More tears poured out of Nicole’s eyes. She gave one last look at Jimmy and then ran out of the house.

“Jimmy, I’m sorry. I thought you should know the truth,” I stood up from my seat.

“Thank you, Natalie,” Jimmy walked over to me and hugged me.

“You don’t want to know who’s Darin’s children are?” I asked.

“No, it doesn’t matter,” Jimmy looked to the kid’s room.

“I think I should go,” I waved good bye to Jimmy and headed for the door. Before I could walk out I felt a little tug on my sleeve. It was Kimmie, the oldest of her siblings and is Jimmy’s child. She was wearing yellow pajamas that had darker yellow polka dots on it. Her dark brown hair was messy from rolling around in bed. Her green eyes were glazed with sleepiness.

“Aunt Nat, why were you, mommy and daddy yelling?” I looked around for Jimmy but he must have gone to his room.

“Well, mommy wanted to go on a vacation but daddy didn’t want her to. But eventually daddy let her. Did we wake you?”

“Mommy went on a vacation without us? Aww,” Kimmie rubbed her eyes with her hand.

“It’s okay, Kimmie. You should get back to sleep,”

“Okay, goodnight, Aunt Nat,” She stumbled back to her room.

I sighed; I felt so bad for Jimmy and for Kimmie. Kimmie had no idea that her mother might not ever come back home. Jimmy just had his life ruined. What did I do?

I finally got back home. Adam was reading a book when he saw me. He immediately jumped up and dropped the book. He ran over to me and encased me in a hug.

“Are you okay? What happened?” Adam rushed out the questions.

“I’m fine. I told Jimmy and he believed me. Nicole ran away and I don’t know where; I have a feeling she is oing to try and get back at me,” I sighed.

“She can try but we’ll be gone by then,” Adam reassured me.

‘Yeah,” I sighed.

“We should probably go,” Adam said.

“Oh yeah, the plane,”

We flew on a private plane. It was a smooth ride; only a couple of hours. We called Jason and thanked him for letting us use the plane. Someone from the Silent Owl Pack picked us up from the airport. He drove us to the Pack’s Town. Most packs have their own town. Most of them are remote enough that humans can’t enter the town. This one was just like that. The town supports itself fully.

The pack house was a giant log cabin. It had a huge porch with chairs and board games. People were on the porch playing games and talking. When Adam and I got out of the car everyone stopped and looked at us. The alpha walked up to us. You could tell he was the alpha just by the way he looks. He had sandy hair and gray eyes. He was muscular and looked extremely smart and wise. He looked just a little over fifty.

“Welcome to your new home,” He smiled.
