As I stand outside the house that I once called home, I start to become extremely nervous. What are they gonna think of me? What if they don't want me back? I have been gone for four months. I haven't spoken a word to anyone since the night Klaus came for me.
I reluctantly turn the doorknob and enter the McCall residence. All the lights in the house are off and it's empty. This gives me a little more time to think about what I'm gonna say. How am I supposed to explain the horrible things I did to get back here?
I sit in the dark for an hour until I hear the door open. "I mean what the hell would make the deer do that?" Stiles asks. "I have no cl- someone's in the house." Scott states. I open my mouth to speak but nothing comes out. They finally walk into the living room and see me.
"Oh my God." Stiles and Scott both say. The sight of them makes my eyes fill up with tears. Scott doesn't look much different, but Stiles grew his hair out. Before I have time to react I am tackled with a hug from Scott. Stiles seems to be frozen in place from shock. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. "I thought I'd never see you again." Stiles states.
Flashback:
"Scott, get yourself and Stiles out of here. Whatever happens don't look back." I demand. "I'm not leaving you alone with him." Scott states growling. "Now no need to get aggressive wolf boy. You're probably guessing how I found you. Over the centuries I have made a lot of connections. A little advice love, if you're running from someone, don't stay in one place." Klaus explains. I turn to face him. I've heard about his methods of getting revenge. I turn and face him. "If you're gonna kill me get it over with." I say.
I close my eyes expecting him to rip my heart out. "Now why would I do that? You're my first success, the first is always sentimental. I have come to peacefully reclaim what is mine. Not that you'll object, sire bond and all. Since the death of the doppelganger, you hybrids are an endangered breed." Klaus states. "I know that either way, I'll go back to Mystic Falls with you. But please can I say goodbye? I'll never ask for anything again from you." I plead.
"I am feeling extra generous today. Who can say no to young love? I'll give you five minutes." Klaus says. I was not expecting that at all. "Take care of Melissa for me. If Derek's ego gets too big, you have to promise me you'll take him down a few pegs. I love you." I say. "I promise. I love you too." Scott replies. I pull Scott into a huge hug. Scott gives me a nod and then leaves us alone.
I take Stiles' hands. "So I guess this is goodbye. I probably won't come back, not in your lifetime. I think it will be easier for both of us if we don't call or text each other anymore." I state. "I promised you that I wouldn't leave you and now you're leaving me. How is that fair?" Stiles questions. "It's not and I know it's not. I don't want to leave, but I don't have a choice. I love you so damn much, never forget that. That being said, I don't want you to be hung up on me. I want you to move on and be happy. Maybe put that ten year plan back into action." I say with a smile that contradicts the tears falling down my face.
"I am so in love with you. I don't think I'll love anyone the way I love you." Stiles says. There are tears in his eyes too. I grab his face and put everything I have into the kiss. "Time to go." Klaus announces. I pull away and give them one last look before walking away with Klaus.
End of flashback:
Stiles then snaps out of his daze and hugs me also. We share a kiss that starts filling the void that the last four months without each other had created. "I don't understand. How did you get away from him?" Stiles asks. "I did something I'm not proud of. Something that got twelve hybrids killed. It wasn't my intention, but it happened anyway. Let's just say I proved my loyalty to Klaus and we came to an agreement." I state looking at the ground ashamed.
