I toss and turn for the billionth time tonight. This is the fourth continuous hour that I've lied awake since Stiles went to sleep. He's been having nightmares for the past few nights. It's gotten to the point where I can feel the uneasiness in the air. Fear and anxiety has a very apparent scent.

No matter how many sleepless nights I go through worrying about him, I'm not gonna leave his side until he gets through this. It hasn't gotten bad, just a little mumbling in his sleep from time to time. It has to have something to do with the sacrifices.

Stiles deserves this the least of all. He is so kind and caring. I wish I could do something about this. My thoughts are cut off by Stiles waking up. It was not a very peaceful awakening either. I held him while he screamed, cried, and thrashed around. His dad came rushing into the room, all he could do was stand there while his son was terrorized by his own subconscious.

"Shhh. It's okay, you're okay." I soothe. His screams die out and his father leaves. "I'm sorry." Stiles repeats over and over. "Hey, you have nothing to be sorry about. Just try to go back to sleep." I reply. I kiss his forehead and we settle back into bed.

It takes a half an hour for Stiles to fall back asleep, and another hour for me to do the same. His alarm clock goes off and I am ready to snap my own neck. I pretend to not hear the alarm and keep my eyes closed.

"Come on. I know you're tired, I am too. We still have to get up." Stiles says. "Dammit." I groan and fall out of bed. This morning isn't like our others. There is no banter or kisses, we don't talk at all. We just get ourselves together in silence.

Stiles' dad knocks on the door frame. "Hey you alright? You ready for school?" Stilinski questions. "Yeah I'm good. Dad, seriously I'm fine. It was just a nightmare. What's that?" Stiles asks referring to the box he's carrying.

"That's just uh, files from the office." Stilinski answers. "It says 'Sheriff's station, don not remove'." Stiles states. "Well yeah, unless you're the sheriff." Stilinski argues. "Oh." Stiles replies. "Now get your butts to school, both of you." Stilinski instructs.

When we get to school Stiles and I split up to find our friends. I run into Lydia. "You look like hell." Lydia comments. "Thank you so much." I reply. "Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Lydia states. "You're implying that I actually got sleep." I retort.

Allison bursts through the doors confused. "Allison are you okay?" Lydia asks. She nods her head not very convincingly I might add. Allison explains the hallucination she just had while we walk to class. We see Stiles and Scott.

"How'd you know?" Scott asks. "Because it's happening to all three of you. Look who's no longer the crazy one." Lydia says. "We're not crazy." Allison argues. "Hallucinating? Sleep paralysis? Yeah you guys are fine." Lydia sasses.

"We did die and come back to life. That's gotta have side effects right?" Scott asks. The bell rings. "We keep an eye on each other okay? And Lydia, stop enjoying this so much." Stiles instructs. Stiles laces his hand with mine as we walk to history.

"Good morning everyone. My name is Mr. Yukimura. I'll be taking over for your previous history teacher. My family and I moved here three weeks ago. I'm sure by now, you all know my daughter Kira. Or you might not since she's never actually mentioned anyone from school. Or brought a friend home for that matter." Mr. Yukimura announces.

I hear a sigh and a head banging on a desk. We all turn around to see a girl with her head in her arms. She raises her head with a shy smile. We all turn back and focus on the lesson. "Either way there she is. Now, let's begin with American History at the turn of the 20th century." Mr. Yukimura states.
