Dr. Holden rushed to the hospital after receiving the call during breakfast that Reign was up and very flighty.
Two police officers stood outside 'Reign's door..That disturbed him..why would there be officers at her door..
His answer came in the form of something metallic hitting the inside of the door making him and the officers jump.
"Good-morning, Dr." One of the officers said in a comical way..Dr Holden never replied as he reached the door handle and opened it to a room that looked like a third world war had erupted there.
Dr.Holden just happened to duck when a water pitcher came flying across the room straight at him.
He spotted Reign in the corner of her room, fighting with the nurses and with items that were handy.
"Ah more the merrier, come to join us pretty boy." I asked as I remembered the handsome doctor from when I arrived here. He held his hands high as if to surrender.
Dr.Holden saw two of his nurses, one was using the closet door as a shield and his other hid on the other side of the room behind the spare bed..
"Mrs.Davis, glad to see you are up and about." Dr.Holden stated as he entered the room fully after closing the room door behind him..He was in no need of the officers, he was sure he could handle the spit fire before him that might weight 120's wet.
"Yes..now I am ready to leave here, and these women won't let me sign myself out." Now are you going to join the fight or will you give me my walking papers?" I asked as I saw the humored look crossing his face.
Dr. Holden was just remembering last nights dream of Reign...the other Reign that was completely different than this Reign.
"No one can give you your so called 'Walking papers', but me." Let my nurses go and we can talk." Dr. Holden said as his nurses became more at ease with him in there..
"Fine." I said as I gritted my teeth through the pain on my side..slowly looking down at the puddle of blood on the floor, blood running down my left leg..My gown had a serving plate size of blood stain on it..
Saw movement of one of the nurses as she moved for me..I glared at her..saying not to come for me..as I sat down in the chair.
"Mrs.Davis, something tells me you opened yourself back up." Now why not allow me to help you." Dr. Holden said as he waved his nurses out of the way.
"No, I'm good." I said forcing myself to stand up and going for my bed..The pain stopped me from going any further and brought me to my knees.
Nurse hurried and lowered the bed as the Dr. picked me up and laid me on the bed.
Removed his tan winter coat that already had been stained from my blood..before going to open my gown..In which I stopped him from doing so.
""You have nothing I have never seen before." Now stop being foolish." I'm Dr.Holden." Dr. Holden said as I allowed him to check on my wound as I turned away from him.
"I remember you from the other night." Your accent, your not from America are you." I said making small talk to try to not think of him touching painful places on my side.
"Other night?" You mean 3 weeks ago." So if you remember me then you also remember you died on me twice.." No, not from America.."I'm from Leicester, England." Dr.Holden said as he paid close attention to my face to see for where it was most painful where he was touching.
Gave him a gritted look,
"Really 3 weeks?" I don't remember all, mostly your accent and eyes." I said through gritted teeth..He smiled a shy smile. Then he lost all expression.
"Your bleeding too bad to have just ripped your stitches, you may have undone what I had to do inside you." Susan call to see if I have a room empty in OR." Dr. Holden said.
"So with you fighting, made things worse." You Mrs.Davis won't be leaving today..maybe in a few days." So what is your story?" Dr.Holden asked as he waited for an answer about the room he requested.
"My story?" I asked as I wondered how he knew my last name.
"You had enough drug in you to kill a horse." He said.
"Ah, so you automatically think a drug user has a story.." Hate it, but no story, just like the feeling it gives me." I said loosing all respect for the English doctor.
"So don't try to get to know me...I don't like doctors or the heros in blue outside my door." I said turning away from the good doctor.
"Too late, when I didn't know if you were going to live or die on me..I went to find your family." Dr. Holden said as I turned my attention back to him.
"You had no right." I'm none of your concern,,all but my health." I said as I remembered the day I buried my parents..my husband was at the hospital with our son who clung to life by a thin...very thin thread.
"You may think that Reign, but you were thrown into my life for a reason.." So yeah you are my concern...till I allow you to leave." Dr. Holden growled at me.
"Thrown into your life.." Does your wife know I was thrown into your life?" I asked feeling bad that those words came out of my mouth.
"Dr.Holden there is a room ready." A new nurse came in saying..I know her, her sea green eyes, her white/blonde hair..A dream maybe..
"I'm sorry about that..I shouldn't have said that."I said looking at Dr. Holden who gave me a smile through his blue eyes.
"I bet you found out more about me than you wished to know." I said as another nurse went for a gurney.
"I wasn't meaning too, but yes I did and I bet I know more about you than most." Dr. Holden said as he put pressure on my wound.
"Then stop digging..you might like what more you may learn." I said with a smile.
"You killed someone." Dr. Holden said half jokingly.
"Let it go Doc.." I said not finding his statement funny.
Two more nurses entered the room to help move me to the gurney as Dr. Holden coughed to clear his throat.
"Promise me..you will let it go." Promise me." I pleaded.
The three nurses looked at us like(What did we walk into?)
"It's forgotten already." I'll let it go as long as you don't cause any more trouble." Dr. Holden said as he remembered the fax saying something about Reign Davis going off the grid till now.
After Reign's operation and was put back in her room safely..Dr.Holden excused the two police officers. Then Dr. Holden took his place in the uncomfortable chair beside Reign's bed..
