"Anna, come on get out of there," I heard Celsey's voice muffled through the bathroom door.

"No!" I call back. She doesn't understand Emmett just—he dumped me. I mean, I knew we probably wouldn't last forever, but did he have to do it today at the party. Why did he have to say 'I love you. I just don't like you that way. You're more like a sister to me.' It's not like this is our first date and we're testing the waters. No. I had already told him how I felt about him and we have been dating a year. A year! You don't just ended it suddenly like that after a year!

"If you're not coming out at least open the door and let me in," Celsey calls.

I sit up from the floor and crawl across the cold tiles to unlock the door. Immediately Celsey rushes into the room. "What are you doing?" She asks my sad pathetic self.

"I was dumped," I sniffled. " Now, I'm doing the next step, crying my eyes out. Care to join me?" I asked, scooting over a bit, so she could sit next to me.

"Nope. I will not be joining this pity fest, get your ass up and go have some fun. Emmett dumped you, which means he is the one with the problem not you, so get off the floor, whip your eyes, and go have fun! It's the last big party and you deserve to enjoy it," she finished her speech by extending her hand to help me up. Taking it would mean standing up and possibly facing Emmett again, but not taking it would make me the girl, who cried for hours at the party. She was right. I took her hand and gave her a weak smile.

"Alright then," she smiled back and wiped my tears away with a paper towel. "Let's show 'em what we're workin' with" she laughed.

"You should really stop stealing your catchphrases from 90's sitcoms," I told her, laughing. It amazes me how quickly she is able to turn my frown upside down.

After fixing myself up a bit, we leave the safety of the bathroom and head over to the kitchen to get some drinks. I really hate the taste of beer, but I need something to get me through this night. I tell Celsey, who started talking to Bryan, I would catch up with her later because I feel like dancing.

Not more than a few minutes later Rick, from my AP lit. class, has made his way to my side and slowly slipped his hands around my waist. Rick's a nice guy, but I don't recall him ever being so forward. Maybe that's just how he dances. I side step a bit from him, so he can get the hint that I would prefer his hands not groping my sides, but unfortunately he doesn't get it. I put my hands on his chest to push him away, but before I can, he captures my hands and holds them in place. I look up to give him my 'what do you think you're doing' face, but he just smiles and bends down to whisper in my ear, "I heard Emmett broke up with you. I have been waiting a whole year for you to finally be single, so hows a 'bout a dance, Anna." Yuck! No!

"I don't think so, Rick," I tell him shaking my head in case he couldn't hear me over the music because there was no way I was planning on whispering to him.

He gave me a look that seemed to say he did not like my answer. He started to lean into kiss me, so I began to bring my knee up, for it to make direct contact with his groin. However, before I could get the chance to permanently damage him. A pair of arms came from behind me and shoved him back. I watched in shock as Rick stumbled backwards. Then, Ethan moved from behind me and punched him in the nose.

"What the actual fu-," Rick started, before Ethan went in for another hit. I grabbed Ethan by his arm as he was winding up and yanked him to me. Rick laid cold on the ground with two girls rushing to help him.

When Ethan saw it was me that had pulled him back, he grabbed my hand, and turned me, so that I was facing him. "Don't hang with him, Anna," he fumed, pointing to Rick. "He's nothing, but a sick twisted pervert," Ethan added practically screaming at me. He looks furious. Gee. Thanks captain obvious as though I hadn't already figured that out. Thanks so much Ethan for your words of wisdom. You done embarrassing me. I look around to see the people around us have stopped dancing and are now watching Ethan and I.

"Where do you get off?" I scream back to him, before turning to walk upstairs. This is not my day! Seriously, what are the boys here drinking.

"Don't walk away from me!" Ethan says, pounding up the stairs on my trail. He sounds like my father. I can just imagine him saying 'young lady' like a proper dad would. "If you hadn't noticed his hands were trying to rip your shirt off!" He exclaimed, calling after me. What does he think I'm blind, and stupid? No, duh!

Once I've reached the top of the stairs and whirl around to see Ethan standing one step behind me. "If you would have just waited a second you would have seen him on the ground in pain. I told him to leave me alone and he ignored me, so I was just about to knee him where it hurts. And if you don't back off I'm going to do it to you! I can take care of myself Ethan, so stop screaming at me!"

"Why did you let him dance with you in the first place? Why did you even allow yourself to get into that situation? Anna, I knew you were naïve, but I didn't think you were stupid, open your eyes!" Stupid! Are you kidding me! I'm done.

"Ethan," I said as calmly as I could. Trying my hardest not to cry in front of him. "If you think you're getting a thank you out of me you're sadly mistaken. I want you to get the hell away from me. Now." I looked up to meet his brown eyes. He took a step back, probably seeing the fresh hurt in my eyes.

"Anna, I'm sorry, but you don't know guys like Rick. You think they're nice, but they aren't." I started walking towards Bryan's room down the hall. He thinks that's it. Why are boys so stupid? How could he not let me take care of myself? Why did he have to call me stupid? He of all people should no how often I get that. I am blonde after all being stupid comes with the job description. "Please Anna, I'm sorry. Wait," he called, but I had already slammed the door.
