The Doctor looked over the Medusa Cascade. He used to come here as a child but had decided to do it tonight too. The night after he had lost his beautiful Rose.
A tear fell down his face when he thought of his former companion. She wasn't just any girl who had followed along on trips. No. She was so much more than that. Words couldn't even begin to describe who she was - is, he hoped.
With the door open to his blue box, he had taken the chance to sit down and dingle with his feet as he let millions of thoughts run through his head. Why can't life just be simple? Why does he always have to lose people?
The answer is simple, really. It's the curse of the Time Lords. It was once a mighty race of aliens that he was proudly a part of. Until the Time War of course. That changed his point of view on Time Lords completely.
But even they left him. He was alone in the universe. Alone to feel the world spinning a thousand miles an hour and he has to protect every inch of it. Every little detail. All by himself.
The Doctor sighed as he walked into the TARDIS and wiped away the last tear. He cannot cry, he has to be strong for her, for Rose Tyler.
With a spin and a push on a button, the Doctor flew away into space when suddenly the TARDIS began to shake. "No, no, no, no!" The man shouted and ran around the control panel to find out what was going on with his ship.
He fell down to the floor and held on to the chairs with all his strenght. A wire exploded and the Doctor tried to pull out the sonic screwdriver out of his pocket. But it was for no use, because suddenly it all stopped.
"What?" The man said and stood up at his feet. With a frown, he slowly walked towards the door that lead out of the TARDIS. He was ready for anything that could jump to attack him.
With a hand on the door handle, the door opened and out stepped the Doctor only to meet a table with loads of different biscuits.
"Alice" a voice called out and suddenly a man ran on the table and towards the Doctor who backed away slowly. The man suddenly stopped right in front of the Doctor and leaned in which caused their noses to touch. "You're not Alice!" He hissed and turned his head towards the table where a mouse and a rabbit was located.
"It's not Alice!"
"Are you sure?" The mouse said and the Doctor frowned again. He must really have hit his head. Sure, he had met loads of strange creatures in his life time, but talking mouses? Now that was something completely new.
"I'll recognise Alice when I see her!"
"Excuse me" the Doctor began and tried to get their attention. "But who are you?"
The man looked rather offended that the Doctor had asked such a question but then he laughed it off. "I am the Mad Hatter, of course".
The Doctor's mouth fell open. This cannot be true? It must be a dream or a - "Oh come on!" He said and rolled his eyes.
The rabbit, the mouse and the Mad Hatter bursted out into laughter and joked around like a bunch of three year olds.
"Would you like some tea?" The rabbit asked and threw a broken cup at him but he managed to not get hit. Suddenly a sugar cube was thrown at him which hit his left cheek. "Ouch!" He said. "That really hurt!"
The mouse laughed and their eyes locked. "Well it's your own fault that you came to this world, pretending to be Alice!"
The Doctor shook his head. He couldn't believe his ears. "I never did!" He shouted back and walked back and forth to think. How did this happen? Wonderland simply does not exist! Or maybe this is a different universe? That must explain it! But why had the TARDIS brought him here?
The Doctor walked into his blue box again to leave his place. He decided that he had no business here. With confused steps, he walked towards the control panel and pushed the usual buttons and a familiar sound came on.
He set of once again, alone. Atleast that's what he thought. The Doctor rubbed his face with his hand when suddenly a man stood on the other side of the control panel. His mouth fell open when the Mad Hatter looked excitedly around at all the buttons.
"Oh, I wonder what this thing does!" He said and pushed a button before the Doctor managed to stop him. The TARDIS began to shake madly.
"What have you done?!" He shouted at the Mad
Hatter who stood there laughing while trying to hold on with his life. Maybe it was just a laugh of fear, or maybe he's just completely mad.The Doctor fell onto the floor and everything turned black.
