I woke up so warm I didn't want to move. I opened my eyes and saw arms around me. I almost flinched at the sight. After what happened yesterday I would be scared of a lot more. Across the room a light flashed on and a annoying sound began. I sat up and Tyler let go of me. I walked over to the phone that was ringing. I looked at the called ID. It didn't say a name. I picked it up and answered it. "Please don't hang up Mary. It's your father I just wanted to say that Luke wasn't suppose to even say something to you. Let alone almost kill you. I ordered him to protect you. Also I will be there in around two to three day. I love you sweetie and will see you when I get there." My dads voice was harsh but sweet. I pulled the phone from my face and hung up.
"Who was it?" Tyler asked as he sat up and yawned.
"My father." I said as I stretched.
"What did he say?" Tyler asked probably shocked I was on the phone so long with him.
"Well he said that he didn't know that Luke was going to hurt me. Then he said that he was going to be coming in two to three days." I said as I walked over to my closet.
"Wait he is coming here?" He asked even more surprised.
"Yeah." I answered.
"What happened to you last night?" He asked as he stood up.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I looked at him.
"When I walked in and you were on the floor. It took you so long to move. I was worried that you were really hurt or worse..." He looked at the ground as he spoke.
"But I'm alright now." I said as I walked over to him.
"Then why is there blood on you?" He asked as he looked at me.
"Because I had picked up the dress in the corner that has blood on it. I swear he took off before he could really hurt me." I lied as I looked at the dress in the corner.
"Then why is there a bruise around your neck?" He asked as he made me look up.
"I- I don't know." I said as he pulled away.
"You do know. It was from that guy last night. I'm going to kill him if I see him again." Tyler's voice was harsh as the words scrambled out of his mouth. I stood there not knowing what to say for a second then went back to my closet. I stood there looking at the dresses hanging and the few shirts that were under them. I reached in grabbing a long dark green dress and a black sweat shirt. I took them off the hangers throwing the hangers to the ground and walked out of my room. I walked down the hall into the bathroom. I shut the door and locked it. I put the dress and sweater on the hooks on the back of the door. I turned and sat on the ground. I pulled my knees the my chest and put my head on them. My long brown hair fell to the sides of my face. I closed my eyes and a there was a sudden relief for some reason. It felt like all the pressure just kind of went away for a split second. Then there was a sudden beeping. My phone had started to go off. I opened my eyes and stood up. I took my pajamas and put my dress on. I grabbed the sweater and put it on over my dress. When I unlocked the door and opened it Tyler was standing there with his hand out. "I'm sorry what I said. It just came out."
"It's okay. I just dont feel the best." I said walking past him and to the kitchen. I took a deep breath and opened the fridge taking out the apple juice.
"Are you okay Mary. If it's me just tell me. I can go back home." Tyler said as the door bell rang.
"It's not you I swear. It's what happened last night." I said as I walked past him and went to open the door. When I opened it I was greeted with a hug. I pushed away to see who it was. As I looked up I saw my father. "Wait you said it was going to be about two to three days before you got here?"
"I got here early." My dad said as he smiled.
"Just wait here." I said as I shut the door on him. I leaned on the door as Tyler walked out of the kitchen.
"Mary open the door!" My dad yelled through the door.
"Who..." Tyler went to ask before I ran over and covered his mouth.
"It's my dad shh." I said as the door opened. I pushed Tyler into the kitchen as my dad walked in.
"Why did you shut the door on me?" My dad asked confused.
"No reason. I've been doing stuff." I said as I yawned. "I just didn't want you to see."
"Oh so you're keeping a secret?" He questioned as he walked over to me.
"Yes." I said bluntly. "But it's for a good reason." I took a step forward trying to keep him out of the kitchen.
"Whats in the kitchen?" He asked as he walked past me. "What the hell is he doing here? Even better question why is he shirtless?" My dads voice seemed to shake the room.
"Dad calm down." I said as I walked into the kitchen.
"No, where is your mother!?" He yelled as if I was in another room.
"Why?"I asked.
"Because where is she!?" He yelled and my ears rang. "What happened to your neck. Did Jack do that to you? I swear if you hurt her I will kill you!" My heart began to pound as my ears rang louder. I turned around walking out of the kitchen. "Mary get back here now!" I walked out the front door shutting it behind me. As my warm feet stepped on the cold side walk I got goosebumps. I put my hood up and walked down the street. I felt tears running down my face. I put my head down so anyone on their way to school didn't see who I was. I didn't even realize till I looked up but I had walked to the playground over by Tyler's house.
'He leaves for my whole life not even calling on my birthday or even just to say hi. Then just shows up expecting to just makeup.' My thoughts bounced around in my head as I walked over to a swing and sat down.
"Are you alright?" A voice that was all too familiar asked.
