Two more hours were spent watching TV before it was dinner time. The time I had been dreading.
Now I know what you're thinking, 'Why would she dread food time?!!??!?? Is she nuts????'. Well no, in fact I love food time.
It's just that dinner means family time and family time means my dad meeting Caleb.
Caleb and I walked down to the dining room together, holding hands. When we got to the doorway, I could hear the voices of everyone that lived here with us talking. Minus a few who hadn't yet made it to the table yet.
Looking up at Caleb worriedly I quietly asked, "Are you ready?"
"Of course I'm ready, it's just your parents." He said smiling calmly down at me.
"Alright.."
We walked in together. Everyone's talking slowly stopped as they took notice of the newcomer who clearly didn't smell like a normal werewolf. I could feel my cheeks heating up at all the attention.
"Hello everyone, this is my mate Caleb."
In reply there was a chorus of 'Hello's all around.
"Hi guys! Nice to meet you!" Caleb said happily.
Everyone looked pretty happy for me, which made me happy. I had a smile on my face as I scanned the expressions in the room. My dad wasn't here yet.
My mom came bounding up to us. "Aww sweetie I'm so happy for you!!" She engulfed me and my mate into a hug.
"It's so nice to meet you!! I trust that you'll take good care of my daughter?" My mom said happily.
"Of course I will, Mrs. Winters!" Caleb smiled at my mom.
"Hey mom, where's dad?" I asked curiously, still holding Calebs hand.
All of a sudden a loud growl was heard.
"Nevermind.." I mumbled quietly, pursing my lips.
My dad's loud angry footsteps were the only thing heard, besides complete silence. My mate squeezed my hand reassuringly.
When my dad reached us, he immediately yanked my mate away from me, punching him in the face. I shrieked and tried pulling my dad off of him, as he had Caleb by the the front of his shirt.
"Dad don't!!!! Leave him alone!!"
My dad didn't pay me any mind and yelled in Caleb's face "IS THERE A REASON YOU'RE TOUCHING MY DAUGHTER??!"
Caleb shook off the punch and tried to remain calm. "Because she's my mate sir."
My dad looked crestfallen for a minute then it was replaced by anger. "No you're not!!! You can't be!!! Why are you lying?!?"
"Dad he's not lying!!! That's my mate and you just punched him!!!" I shouted angrily.
My dad turned to me "Hush young lady, you have no idea what you're talking about!! You're too young for a mate!!"
My mom was quick to defend me. "How is she too young?? We were younger than her when I found you!! What're you going to do, anyway? Keep them away from each other till they're 50?!?"
My dad seemed to consider this for a minute. He sighed sadly and released Caleb from his hold, patting his shirt back into place.
"I guess you're right dear. I'm sorry." He turned to me with tears in his eyes, hugging me tightly. "I just don't want my little girl to leave!" He sobbed.
I hugged back tightly shocked he was actually crying. Over his shoulder I could see others trying not to laugh at him.
"It's fine dad, you don't need to cry. It's not like I'm never going to see you again. I can visit still, plus I haven't even been to Caleb's pack yet!"
