"Mummy are we almost there?" You hear behind you as your 4 year old son whines from the backseat. You smile and say, "Yes dear, I can see the sign." Your son yelps for joy and you smile at your husband as he smiles while watching the road.
You and Richard are taking your son to a fairytale based play land. You hoped that Richie would have fun today, since the stress of The Beatles has been getting to him. So far, he seems to be having a good day. But lately, you could never tell when Richie's mood would change.
10 minutes later, you and your boys have parked and got out of the car. You take your son's small hand and walk with him to the entrance; Richard has his other hand. You two even swing your son in the air, sending him into a fit of giggles. It was a sunny, white cloud day, sort of unusual for Liverpool. You had high hopes.
You pay for you and your families' tickets and walk in with them. This is the kind of place that has animatronic scenes of story book and fairy tales; even some of the houses and attractions having slides or playgrounds built In. The first fairytale you get to is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. You walk in the cottage, and your son presses the button that brings the scene to life. You and Richard chuckle and the animatronics moving, it being sort of lame since it's nothing professional; but your son loves it, so you're happy.
Next is Goldilocks and the Three Bears' house. This is a house that has a slide instead of an animatronic scene. You stand by Richie and watch your son go down the slide that comes out through the "window" of the second story house. Richie snaps a picture with his camera.
"Mummy come with me!" Your son yells.
"Oh no, son. Mum is too big for that. You go on,"  you politely decline. Your son pouts.
"Aw, come on hon. I see a mum going in right now. Besides, it would make a great picture," Richard urges you. He smiles at you.
"Oh, alright. Come on, love," you say to your son. He jumps for joy and you climb up the narrow stairs with him. You get to the top of the slide, and sit with your son on your lap. You see Richie smiling and waving his camera. His silliness reminds you of why you fell in love with him. You give yourself a push, and the one second ride reminds you of your childhood as you reach the bottom. Your son leaps about, and Richie says, "The picture is going to be groovy." You give him a playful shove.
The next hour is spent walking through the rest of the attractions. Before going to Pinocchio's Playground at the end, you and your family takes a snack break at the concession stand. Finally, you go to the playground. Your son immediately goes to the swings, and you snap a few pictures of Richie pushing him on the swings. After that, you go on the merry-go-round with your son, as Richie pushes you, some other kids, and even another mum on there. Lastly, you and Richie sit on a bench, watching your son and taking pictures. Richie has his arm around your shoulders.
Thirty minutes later it's time to go. Your son pouts, but after a talking to from Richie, he takes your hand and you guys head back to the car. When you're finally driving back home, your son falls asleep in the back, and Richie rests his hand on yours. You smile, being blessed for the wonderful day spent with your two greatest loves.
