A/N: Chapter six. :)
Draco's P.O.V
I lay on the couch, my arms tangled around Corinna, her head on my chest.
Oh, Draco, what have you done? I can't do this right now, not with everything that's been happening at home. I can't hurt her, I just can't. It would be much better for her if she just forgot this completely. I should just stay away from her.
I eased around her small body, cursing myself when she stirred in her sleep. I took a long look at her peaceful face before pulling my wand out.
"Obliviate."
Corinna's P.O.V
"Corinna, wake up," a shrill voice rang through my head.
I sat up hurriedly and bumped heads with someone. I was in the common room, on the couch by the fireplace. Weird, I don't remember falling asleep on the couch. Come to think of it, I don't even remember what I did last night.
Pansy Parkinson loomed over me, smiling triumphantly. You know, now that I've gotten a good look at her, she sort of resembles a pug. Her nose is small and upturned, and that short brown hair of hers...
"Listen, you have to get ready really quickly. I don't want us to lose house points on the first day because you're late, Missy," she reprimanded me, pulling me to my feet. "Get a move on.'
"Alright, alright. Don't get your knickers in a knot, Dio," I scowled, rushing back to my room.
I threw on my robes, stumbling in my haste. I drew my hair back into a high ponytail and assessed myself in the mirror hanging opposite my bed. I've looked better, but I don't have the time to do anything with my hair right now. I grabbed my timetable and hustled back to the common room, only to find that Pansy had already left. Typical.
I growled, power walking out the door, down the hall, and towards the Potions classroom. I had double Potions first thing and I didn't want to try Snape's patience by being late, especially since he's not a big fan of me already.

The classes felt like they were going to drag on forever. Double Potions was brutal. Snape gave us a 5 page lab report on Polyjuice Potion due in a week. So much for no homework on the first day, huh? Anyway, I sat with Hermione during potions, and she offered to help me on the lab. I don't understand why she isn't in Ravenclaw, because she's brilliant.
I sat with Harry during Divination because Hermione refused to take that class. I can see why though, Trelawney is quite an oddball. Harry and I mostly just talked about things, life in general. He told me about his past and I felt horrible. I had no idea he had been through so much.
Herbology and History of Magic passed in a blur and before I knew it, it was time for dinner.

Walking to the Gryffindor table, I could see Ron stuffing his face. Never come between Ron and his food. Harry was talking to a pretty red haired girl that somewhat resembled Ron. She looked to be a bit younger though; perhaps his little sister? As soon as I sat down, Hermione ripped into Ron about his food addiction.
"Honestly, Ronald! What is it with you and food? Hogwarts could be burning to the ground, and you'd want to save your pudding," she huffed, setting down her fork.
Ignoring my entrance, Ron glared at Hermione in annoyance.
"Bloody females, they're all so dramatic," he mumbled, continuing to shovel pudding into his mouth.
"Oh, hey Corinna. It's great to see you, how have you been?" I asked myself, looking around.
"I'm great, thanks for asking, Corinna," I spoke again to myself, this time in a slightly higher voice.
Everyone turned to look at me for a second before breaking into laughter.
"Sorry, Corinna, I was talking to Ginny about Quidditch tryouts. I don't think you two have met. Corinna, this is Ginny Weasley, Ron's little sister. Ginny, this is our friend Corinna Sinistra," Harry spoke, introducing me to the girl.
I stuck my hand out to her and she grasped it, smiling. Harry had called me their friend, and I'd only known them for a day, really. I felt myself smile warmly back at her.
"It's great to meet you," she said, taking her hand back. "Do you play Quidditch, by any chance?"
"Me? I can't fly," I admitted, shrugging.
"Really? Well, we can teach you if you like," Harry offered.
"No, really. Thanks, but I'm actually afraid of heights. Flying and I don't mesh," I giggled.
We chatted for a long time and I begun to notice a few things. First, the way Hermione looked at Ron. It was obvious there was something there, Ron was just too dense to see it. That, or he was too infatuated with his dinner. I decided it was probably a bit of both. Second, the way Harry and Ginny looked at each other. There was something going on there too, but it looked as though neither wanted to admit to it.
When we were finished, we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. I took my time walking back to the Slytherin common room, playing through thoughts in my head. They considered me their friend. True, I am in Slytherin with the spoiled rich kids, but I had made true friends that didn't care about my money or my blood status. They liked me for me.
I skipped through the painting and down the stairs to my dorm. I made friends. I changed into my pyjamas, cuddled into my bed, and fell asleep smiling.
