Chapter 6: Never Miss a Beat

"The Second Round of the Vyestal Tournament is about to began with the first fight going to Team CKFF vs Team SMOK! From Team CKFF: Cole Fox and Flare Falls (To hide the identity). From Team SMOK: Smoke Fox and Merlin Maic!" Cole and Flare were ready for their match and got on the square arena with Smoke and Merlin across of them. "I got my brother...you handle Merlin though be careful she use Glyndas." He warned Flare. Flare nodded and ready his shield and Dragon Sword. Suddenly the arena changed into two enviorments. On the left side turned into a swamp and the right side turned into a tall grassy hills. Smoke smirked and pulled out his weapon, which is an axe that turns into a shotgun, and Merlin grabbed her wooden staff. "Five....Four....Three....Two....One! BEGIN!!" Merlin used her Glydas to surround Cole and Flare in a circle of fire. Cole got out in time, but Flare stood there and grunted in frustration. Smoke covered the whole arena in smoke by using his Smoke Glydas. Cole smirks and Aura Push the smoke away, but suddenly his feet are frozen! "Huh?!" Smoke appeared in front of him "Gottcha!" He uppercuts him out of the ice and into the air. "Oohh fuck!" Merlin used her Air Glydas on him to make him slam against a hill. "ACK!" Flare pushed through the fire being covered by his shield. He sees Cole in trouble and sighs "Hey! I'm over here!" He shoots fire and ice dust at Merlin, but she dodged them. Smoke kicked Flare in the back and made him going flying through the swamp. He landed in the swampy lake. "Wow! Folks! It seems Smoke and Merlin has got this one in the bag for this match!" The crowd cheered for the Second Round Match.

Kai, Flash, Yang, Ruby, Jaune, Pyhrra, Nora, Ren, Blake, Weiss, Sun, Neptune, and Roxy watched the match unfold. "Why aren't they going through the plan?" Flash groans. Kai was confused about Flare and Cole not going through the plan they had last night. "That is weird." "What was the plan?" Roxy asked the two. "Well..."

Flashback the night before...

"Okay lets go through the plan once more guys." Cole said to them "Now my brother's semblance is to use Smoke Glydas and much faster than anyone I known...except for Ruby. I think we should make him tire from using his Smoke Glydas. Merlin uses all types of Glydas and she would most likely to hide out or stay away from the main battlefield. So I suggest sneak around her and take her by surprise. Osborn is very strong and secretive. I think her batte tactics would change so go all out. Kuri likes to go for close up fight and strong defense. Weaken her defenses, she'll be open for our attacks." Flare looks at him. "You sure it's gonna work?" He shrugged "Not really, but just follow this hint and we'll win for sure." Kai face planted "You have no idea what to do...do you?" Cole sighed. Flash face planted too "We're gonna lose." "Have faith Wolfie...have faith." Flare said as he fell asleep on his bed.

 

End of Flashback,

 

"So...You guys don't actually have a plan?" "Well...meh." Kai shrugged and looked back at the match. Then Roxy noticed the match and smile "So....Thats how hes gonna win. Interesting." She rubbed her tail. On the other side of the stadium was Team TRXC sitting together next to Cinder, Mercury, Emerald, and Neo. "Well Cindy it looks your target will lose." Mercury chuckles. Cindy glared at him, but before she could response. "I think this is all an act." T suggested as everyone, except Cinder, looked at them with a surprise look. "But of course we'll see." They said getting up and walked away. Redrum looked at the match and sighed "....I really want to kill someone." "Don't worry man. You'll get your chance." Xeo pulled out a cigar and light it up. He smoked it and stared at Cindy "So we'll get the money after the job, right?"

 

Cole was thrown into Flare "Damn it!" He groans as they got up. "Your brother is fast, but he only stays on the hills." "Merlin must be around the hills....or the trees?" Both smirked "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Flare nodded "It may not work, but we have to try it." Flare smirked "Just kick your brother's ass." Cole ran back to the hill side while Flare stayed on the swamp side. "Okay Merlin, lets crack up the heat!" He use fire dust around the swamp area to cause the water to be on fire. Merlin was shocked and tried to retreat, but Flare slammed the exits with a wall of stone walls with his Earth Glydas. "So Glydas...you have them too? I like that." Merlin smirked and pulled her wooden staff. Flare smirked and swing his Dragon Sword at her, but she clashed her weapon back. "You know you and Little Cole won't win." "Little Cole? Is that your boyfriend's nickname?" Merlin blushed "W-What?! Me and Cole aren't dating!" "Who said it was our Cole?" He smirked. She blushed more and this causes her to lose focus "What? I umm I mean." Suddenly her feet were frozen "Gottcha!" He frozen her arms and kicked her weapon out of the stadium. "Looks like you lose." Flare smirked, but then his feet were frozen "Huh?! How?!" Merlin shook her head "You shouldn't talk that long." Flare grunts and swings his Dragon Sword, but thanks to the ice on his feet he threw his weapon into a tree "....Oh come on..." "It looks like both Merlin and Flare are weaponless and in the red zone, so both are out. Cole Fox and Smoke Fox will decide who will win the battle."

(Play X Gon Give It To Ya by DMX) Cole and Smoke stared at each other in the Hill side of the arena. "Lets end this match." both of them said as clashed their weapons. Cole transform his Athena to shoot at Smoke, but he dodges and deflects the bullets. He kept firing at Smoke with a smirk. Smoke noticed his hands were freezing up. He realised those bullets were Ice Dust Bullets. He moved behind a hill. He went after Smoke and Aura Pulls him. Smoke kicks his face. He goes flying across the field. He gets up quickly and saw him slammed his fist on the arena to cover it in smoke. Cole grunts and he got sucker punch in the face, legs, arms, and stomach. He groans in pain. He looks up to see hes in the yellow zone. He has to use IT or his team won't make to the next round. He knows this will knock him out, but he'll have to use it. He decide to gather up Aura at a slow rate while taking the beating from his older brother. "Come on bro! Give up already. Theres no way you'll find me." He sighed and listened carefully while blocking out all the surrounding noise. He hears foot steps running in circles. He breaths slowly "....." Then he fires his Athena around him to get a guest shot and so far he heard grunts and dodging near him. "Hey bro. You just 'blow' your cover." "Huh?" "Take this! AURA PULSE!" He jump and swings his arms to blow all the smoke away and cause his brother slammed against a hill. Cole rushed foward "AURA PUSH!" He blew his brother through the hill and out of the arena. (End the song). Cole sighed to see Smoke is out of the arena. "Smoke is out of the arena. The winners of the Second Round Match #1 is Cole Fox and Flare Falls!! Give them a cheer folks!" Everyone cheered for Cole and Flare's win. Cole climbed up the stone wall and see Flare and Merlin stuck. "Here let me help." He smiled.

 

T came back and saw the Match was already over. "Told you." Cindy rubbed her chin "So how did he do it?" "He had no plan. He just decided to go with the flow." Cinder sighed "He's a good fighter, but I think hes terrible at planning before ahead." Redrum and Xeo agrees "This kid should be easy to kill." Xeo smoke another cigar, but T grabbed it and crushed it. "No smoking allowed... We may be wrong about the boy, but I would be more worried about the others." "You saying Flare could be a threat to us?" Emerald asked. "I'm surprised he didn't reognize us." Cinder smiled. "Kai is General Ironwood's Nephew. Flash is well....different." Cindy said to them. "Our match is almost up. Lets go Cindy." T ordered as they left with her. Redrum growled "I wanna kill..." He whinned
