It's just another day at Dauntless High. Loud teens dressed in black, tattoos and piercings displayed. Ever since I moved here from Abnegation High, life has become more thrilling and adventurous. My older brother, Caleb, moved to Erudite, the nerds and bookworms.
I'm Beatrice but I prefer Tris, a transfer from Abnegation High to Dauntless high. It's been a while now, yet I still get names called at me. Most of the times its 'Stiff' and most of the times, it's by Peter and his tag-alongs, Drew and Molly. I shudder at the thought of those jerks.I walk to my locker where a mocha skinned girl with brown hair reaching below her chin waits for me. My best friend Christina, from Candor.
Her eyes turn to me, eyeing me up and down. Christina is always the 'fashionista' type. Her perkiness and enthusiasm can get in my nerves, but it's what we all loves about her.
She sighs at me as I raise my eyebrow. Before she speaks, I say it for her.
"It's my outfit, isn't it?"
She nods her head, disappointed. "We need to go shopping again."
"Hey! What's wrong with simple black jeans and top?"
"It's boring, we need to spice it up!" She emphasises on the word spice.
"But Christina," I groan, knowing she will force me into shopping with her. "it won't matter about what I wear. It's black, I don't look pretty anyway."
Christina scoffs and rolls her eyes. "Who cares about pretty? I'm going for noticeable."
"Chris, I'm one of the only Stiffs. I think I'm noticeable enough."
"Tris, I thought you were Dauntless. Take risks, that's what this faction is about."
I sigh, knowing she's right.
"Fine."
Christina jumps up and down, clapping her hands. "WOOH! Let's go after school today."
"But Chris-"
She lays a finger on my lips. "No buts now, Trissy-Poo."
I chuckle at the Pedrad words. "Don't call me that."
Christina tilts her head, confused. "What? I- Oh god. I'm turning into Uriah." Her face twists into horror as we walk off to our first class.
I laughed as Christina covered her face with her hands. "Don't worry, Chrissy. Will should be able to forgive you." She glares right into my soul when I mention Will, her crush. Man, if looks could kill, I'd be dead by now. I laugh harder as she chuckles.I walk in to Math with Christina and sit with the gang. In the gang there is Zeke Pedrad and his idiot brother, Uriah. Lynn, the toughie of the group Lynn and her sister Shauna. Will, the computer of the gang and Al. Lastly, there is our beloved blonde, Marlene. Of course, there is Christina and I.
The school day goes by pretty quickly. As I walk out the building to towards the moving train, I am jumped on by..
"TRISSY!!"
.. Christina
Oh right, shopping... Fun.
"Tris, don't try to run away. We have to go shopping! Let's go before we miss the train!"
I groan at the word shopping. As you may have guessed, I am not very fond of shopping.
We both run at the same pace, catching up with the train. I grunt as I jump onto the handle, swinging my petite body inside the vehicle. Not long after I land inside the train Christina follows, crashing her body on top of mine.
"Christina!" I groan in pain.
"Sorry Tris." She giggles as the train speeds towards the city towards the mall...... This is going to be a torturous day.
