"I told you we'd make it!" I said. When we heard the Vk's next door, I suggested to run out the door. But Jeremiah kept saying, "We're not gonna make it!" But I knew we would.

"Guys, keep it down! Mal might here us." said Kai.

"Oops. Sorry." I whispered back. "Speaking of Mal, how are we gonna use our powers to defeat her?"

"Did you forget about the plan we made 5 minutes ago?" Said Jeremiah. "Steal the mirror, duh!"

"But how we gonna get the mirror if Evie is looking for us with it? I bet she already found out all the answers she was looking for." said Karla.

I pulled out my phone from my sweater pocket. "No, we'll find Evie and the gang before they snoop around. I just need to update my phone and-"

That's when I saw it.

When I turned away from my friends, I saw their reflection on my phone. It gave me an idea.

I slipped my phone back into my pocket. "You know what? Forget the phone. I'm gonna upgrade all of you."

Karla looked excited while confusion took over Kai and Jeremiah's face. "Upgrade who?" Kai asked.

"I think I know where this is going, considering what Clarissa's favorite movie is." said Karla.

"We don't stand a chance against Mal! She's Maleficent's daughter. And we're just... Us." said Jeremiah.

I stood on a nearby bench and shook my head. "As Karla said, You guys know my favorite movie, and I know that we can be... Way more than teenagers."

Karla stood on the bench, too. "Can you guys believe this? Clarissa and I have been waiting for this moment since November 7, 2014......"

"WE'RE GONNA BE SUPERHEROES!!!!"

But just then, we heard the classroom door swing open, and a familiar voice.

"You're making this way too easy. Alright guys, you know the drill. Get them."

"Run!" I shouted. We all ran, but this time, since it was so dark, we ran in opposite directions.

I ran all the way to the lonely bench. It was just a bench where Karla, Jeremiah, Me, and Kai would always meet up during recess. Mostly in 6th grade, though. 7th and 8th didn't give us anytime for that.

I stayed really quiet, not making a sound. If a vk found me, I would be so dead.

"Hey."

I jumped in fear and turned around to see who was there. "I'm not afraid of you!" I told Carlos.

"Listen, I'm not gonna hurt you." he said.

"And how do I know you're telling the truth?" I asked.

"Because.... It may not seem like it, but I'm not evil. I'm not like Mal, or my mom, Cruella."

"So, you're not gonna kill me?" I asked.

Carlos shook his head. "Never. But this means you have to hide as far away from Mal as possible. I don't know what I'd do if she hurt you."

"Well, first I need to find my friends. We ran in different directions for some reason." I said.

"Maybe I can help you. Mal went to take a break and Evie and Jay are making googly eyes at each other." said Carlos.

"Are they dating?" I asked.

"I think so. It makes me feel weird, though. I just ended my relationship with Jay and he's moved on. I'm still mourning about it."

I put my arm around him, trying to hide the fact that Carlos was Bi, just like me and Karla."It'll be okay. I promise."

After a few silent moments, Carlos stood up from the bench. "Okay, let's go find your friends." he said.
