I Almost Get Killed(16)

I've just finished working with Fire on how to work with flame magic and I'm laying in the field again.

I watch the clouds drift into circles and then disperse. I sigh. 

My phone buzzes and I look over at the screen. Hmm

I pick up my phone and click 'answer'. 

"Hey what's up?" I ask, laying down again.

"Nothing much. I'm guarding the main entrance. What r u doing?" Shade asks.

"I'm laying in the field. Just finished magic training with Fire." I say.

"Wow. Don't you have paper work or  princessey work to do?" He asks chuckling.

"Yeah actually I do. Thanks for the reminder. I didn't know they let you talk on The phone." I tease.

"Actually they don't. No ones on my aisle-" Shade breaks up and I hear 

"What are you doing Shade?" That's Blood. I snicker and hang up so I don't get him in too much trouble. 

I get up, grabbing my bag and my water bottle. I walk to my room and throw my training equipment in the chest.

I take a quick shower, washing my hair and wiping the grass off my body. 

I get out and pick out a new pair of clothes. I'm drying my hair as a knock erupts on my door. I quickly put on my black leggings and purple with print on it t-shirt. I open the door and find a guard, Bark. He bows quickly and then straightens up to his full height. 

"What is it" I ask, adjusting my hair.    

"We've witnessed an unidentified figure lurking around outside, we would like to station guards closer to you. Is that alright your highness?" Bark asks, using formalities.

"Um..I guess. what did this figure look like?" I ask, my curiosity perked.

"Well, we couldn't see him clearly from the shadows. We assume he has dark hair, he's tall-around 6 feet and the only thing we really noticed was that he has unusual eyes." He reports. Unusual eyes? 

"Uh? What's unusual about them?" I ask confused.

Bark reply's: "One is green and one is blue. Err red? They changed color when he saw us. Though, they were slitted like a reptile." Bark reports.

"Huh that's odd. Ok well thank you for informing me about this. Does my sister know about this?" I say.

"Yes ma'am" Bark salutes then walks away, probably back to Yang's meeting quarters.

Hmm random person with unusual eyes? Interesting?

I walk down the stairs to kitchens and grab my self an apple.

-------------------------------------Hours Later---------------------------------------------

Its almost 9 p.m when I finish sparring with Shade. He got off his shift and offered to work on our sparring defensive moves and I obliged.

"Hungry?" I ask, nodding to the guards stationed outside the doors.

"Eh kinda. Ill get something to eat when I get you to your bedroom. Its kinda late." (I laugh at this bc we stay up late a lot of nights rping irl)

Shade walks me to my room, accompanied by my 5 guards. Shade bows and leaves me once I close my door. My female guards, Neon, Dancer, Willow,  Invy and Fire are stationed at my door.

I change into my pj shorts and shirt and climb into bed. The candles are dimmed and the guards are alert for danger.

-------------------An Hour Or So Later-----------------------

Willow hears the bushes rattle and walks over, blade unsheathed. She looks out cautiously to find...................a squirrel. XD

 A distant crashing sound echoes in the hallway and Neon, Dancer, Fire and Willow check the sound. Invy sits and waits at the end of my table beside my book shelves.

Suddenly the window shatters and I wake up slightly groggy, to find an arrow flying at me. I couldn't block in time and the arrow embeds itself into my side. I cry out in  pain and clutch my side.

Invy is at the window and Willow is by my side. Blood flows onto the sheets and onto Willows hands as she tries to get the arrow out.

Turns out the arrow is metal and poisonious. I'm immune to most poisons, not all.

Invy, Neon and Fire jump out of the window, chasing after my assasin. They come back with a blade with snakes twined along the hilt. Small spikes jud out towards the blade along with horns at the butt of the dagger. (Picture is the dagger)
------------------------------An Hour Later--------------------------------

I'm laying in the medicine wing, the arrow still in my side. They've tried to get it out but it has small ridges that dig painfully into the flesh around my already cut open wound. Sky and Breeze, two senior med members suggest using magic to remove the arrow.

At this point I'm already half asleep because of blood loss so I just numbly nod when they alert me of the plan. Icy numbs my pain alittle as Breeze and Lily do some surgery to loosen up the arrow.

Tears spring in my eyes as they begin, I can feel their surgeical tools working along my side and ribs. I shudder acouple of times.

During their procedure I pass out, unable to bear being awake.
