Becca's P.O.V

Hey guys quick side note. I would appreciate it if you all would comment and tell me if I'm doing an okay or good or terrible job. Thanks!

You guys are soo awesome!!!!! Already at 133 reads!! So since you all are reading it, I decided to give you all another chapter for this month:)

I love you guys!!!:)

-------

"I said no humans are suppose to know about us." He said sounding a little more than upset.

I tilted my head a little to get a better look at him and that's when I noticed his eyes.

They weren't that rich chocolate brown color that I was used to seeing. They were pitch black and starring deep into my own eyes. My breathing picked up and fear was taking over me. James had never acted like that towards me. He was always caring and sweet to me; he never looked so angry before at me than right now.

He must've noticed that I was terrified because the next thing I knew was that his eyes had gone back to their natural color and he had a guilty look on his face.

"I-I'm sorry Bec's. I-I didn't mean to overreact. I..my um wolf is furious that you found out about us. It's our highest law that no humans find out about us." He said scratching the back of his head. He kept looking at the ground before he spoke again.

"Bec, I know this is a lot to take in, especially in a little amount of time. But um, I'm a werewolf and so were the other guys at your place and those guys you described at your school sound like werewolves too." He said looking me straight in the eyes.

I just stared blankly at him. All of this couldn't be real, could it? I mean I could've been given a new kind of drug right? Who am I kidding. I witnessed first hand two giant dogs-well now werewolves fight in my living room. This has got to be a dream that's gone horribly wrong.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by James talking to me.

"Its not a dream Becs. I know this is hard to take in and believe, but it's true. We do exist and have for thousands of years. Now we just pretty much blend in with the human population. Some werewolves live in packs, while others like me live on our own." He said trying to make everything sound normal.

"Wait, but one of the guys at my school, that I told you about, he mentioned something about a pack or pack house. Is that what we're in?" I asked trying to piece everything so that it makes some sense. "Does that mean we're in a pack?"

"Well, pretty much. Each pack is different. Some have pack prisons and a pack house, while others just have one or the other." He said. "And yes we're in a pack."

I sighed before asking the question that was playing on my mind.

"Why were they after us? If they are werewolves just like you doesn't that make you all somehow related and not fight each other?" I asked curiosity and confusion mixed with my voice and expression.

"Well, I don't know why they're after you. We have no reason to take humans, let alone have an interest in. And about the whole 'related' thing, it's not as simple as it sounds. Each wolf has a pack and there are different packs throughout the land. Whenever a wolf finds his or her mate, the female will leave her pack and join her mates pack, but I haven't heard of that happening very much. But for the most part we aren't all one big wolf family." He said taking a breath before continuing.

"Each pack has an alpha and a beta. Sometimes there are some packs that are big enough to have a third in command. Anyways back on track. Each pack has a territory line and if another wolf from another pack crosses into it they are most likely killed on sight or torched for information about neighboring packs." He said shaking his head.

I sat there taking everything in before asking another question.

"So what pack are you in?" I asked curious to find out.

"I'm not in a pack." He said before continuing.

"I am what they call a rogue, but I like to refer to myself as 'the lone wolf'." He chuckled at the end which made me smile knowing that he's still the same James I know.

"So what's going to happen to us? They didn't kill us, so does that mean we're going to be tortured?" I asked getting a horrible knot to form in the pit of my stomach.

"I'm not sure. They might or they might just question us, but it's doubtful that they would let us go alive." He said a frown forming on his face.

"B-but what about my mom? She'll know something's wrong if I don't call her." I said, hoping that would help us out.

"It's doubtful, but you never know. The alpha here might be nice enough to let you go." He said adding a small smile to his face.

What does that mean? The alpha might be nice enough to let me-wait a second?!

"What do you mean let me go?" I asked getting up and walking closer to him to get a better look into his eyes.

He sighed before speaking.

"The alpha will probably kill me." He said, his voice void of emotions.

"What?! Why?! You haven't done anything wrong, have you?" I asked scooting as close as possible to him.

"No, I haven't, but it's more of what I am. I'm a rogue. A rogue is looked down upon and aren't spared unless they're mate is someone in that pack." He said, saying that word again.

I sighed reaching out for his hand.

"Don't worry, we'll both get out of here alive." I said before asking another question since everything was so new to me.

"So what's a mate? You've mentioned that before. Is it a female wolf or something?" I asked hoping that he would tell me.

He chuckled at whatever it was that was so funny about what I said.

"No, a mate is not a female wolf. A female wolf is called a She-Wolf. A mate is a pretty much a soul mate just shortened down. It's the other half of you, the one that completes you." He said getting a sparkle to his eyes.

"So have you met your mate then?" I asked curious to know.

"No, not yet, but they say your other half is everything you imagine and more. And all you will want to do is be with them." He said smiling at the thought of what I assume his mate would look like.

"How will you know if you have found your mate?" I asked getting interested in the conversation we were having.

"Well, you will feel a pull the moment you make eye contact and they will have this most intoxicating smell that will make you want to just pin them down and never let them go. That, and you will feel sparks when you touch them." He said breathing out as if he was actually smelling that intoxicating scent.

I started to get nervous, and started to mess with the bottom of my shirt before I asked another question of mine.

"James? Do um, humans have a mate? Could I have a mate?" I asked hoping with all my heart that there was someone out there that could possibly love me with their very being.

By now James was laying down with his hands behind his head resting his eyes.

"No humans don't have mates. There are a few stories of very few werewolves having a human mate, but it's never a good ending." He said yawning towards the end.

My hopes crashed the moment I heard him say no. It hurt, but at least I could have my pick.

I shook my head before laying back down to rest. Whatever was going to happen to us was probably going to be bad, and we probably wouldn't be found alive. That thought brought a few tears to my eyes. I'd never be able to see my mom or friends again.

-------------

I was awoken by the sudden loud banging and growling of multiple people. Before I could actually open my eyes to see what was going on, I was yanked up by my hair and dragged out of the cell.

"JAMES!!!!!" I screamed as fear struck me and the knowledge of the fact I was probably going to be killed. I wasn't ready to die. Not now, not ever!
