Chapter Thirteen

Becca's P.O.V.

"Raven I-oh." He said stopping half way after realizing Raven wasn't in the room. "Where is Raven?" He demanded.

I couldn't help but shiver at the thought of HIM being in the same room as me.

"He's not here. I'm not sure where he is at the moment." I said as I looked into his eyes for a brief moment.

His eyes were darkening and his head tilted slightly to the right. Confused I followed his line of sight to my legs. Gasping, I pull the blanket back over me.

I could feel my cheeks start to burn, but it wasn't just of embarrassment. He shamelessly looked at me there. I shivered in disgust.

He started to walk closer to me, his eyes still dark and full of want in them.

I scooted further away on the bed, hoping that that would put more space between us.

My heart rate increased and was pounding hard against my chest while my breathing was coming out hard. He had almost killed me, and then he sliced my leg, I had every reason to not like him and to fear him.

He kept advancing me, ignoring what I had said earlier about Raven not being here. Finally he was a few feet away from me when Eric entered the room.

I breathed a breath of relief.

Eric stood there looking between me and him, and then me again.

I pleaded with my eyes to him. I may not have known Eric very well, but he has never once tried to kill me, so I trusted him a tad bit more right now.

"Rick." Eric said sternly with a quick nod of his head. Eric had his arms crossed over his chest and was looking intimidating as everyone else. "What are you doing?"

By now Rick's eyes had gone back to normal, but he still had his back to Eric and was watching me.

"Oh I came to see the alpha, but he wasn't here, so I decided to talk to his mate." Rick said devilishly while eyeing my body.

I felt disgusted sitting there with him so close to me. I was beyond uncomfortable and scared, he seemed to emit some sort of power. It made it hard for me to even look at him, but then again I was okay with not looking at him.

Eric caught on to either the way Rick was talking or by my terrified features, but either way he made his way towards me and stood protectively next to me. It calmed me some what, but I was still very grateful that he was there.

"Raven is in the kitchen getting some food for her. I suggest you look there for him." Eric said taking a step closer to Rick in a challenging way.

Rick was slightly taller and stronger looking compared to Eric, but it looked like Eric could still take him down, it would just take him longer.

"Do not speak to me like that, Eric." Rick growled out. "You're not the alpha, nor are you a beta. Learn your place boy." Rick said before leaving the small room.

After Rick left, Eric just stood there with his fists clenched and his body tensed. I wasn't exactly sure what that last comment meant to Eric, but it sure seemed to piss him off.

"Thanks." I whispered, knowing that he would hear me.

"Don't worry, if he comes again, just call my name and I'll be here ASAP." Eric said turning around and giving me a small smile.

"Okay." I said returning the smile.
