Chapter 5

That night as she was laying in Aro's bed she was dreaming a nice dream. As she was dreaming Aro was standing above her watching her sleep. He saw her shiver because of the window that was open blowing cool air on her. So he covered her up and closed the window. He went back to sitting in a chair and watching her sleep. To him she looked so peaceful, like an angel. He wanted to connect to her but he couldn't. He wanted to get close to her but he couldn't. So he just sat there and wondered what it would be like if she could love him. He wondered if this is what love is.after his sister died he lost all hope and all the love in his heart. He could, no, wouldn't let someone in because he feared he would lose them too.

By the morning light he was gone. He escaped to his secret room where he was free to hide and think about different things. In that place he was free to hide his most precious thing and that would be the old things he has kept of his sister (Sulptica). He couldn't put it behind him. He missed her so much. Maybe that is why this beast is the way he is? He doesn't want to love because he doesn't want to let go.

Ana roamed the hallways and went up a lot of stairways to find an empty room that had a piano in it. She sat down at it and started to play. She played a song that came from her heart. As she played and played Aro heard her from his secret room and followed the music to where it came from and it was her. He watched how involved she got with the music. All of a sudden Alec came out of no where and began to flirt and joke with Aro's mate. Aro became enraged and stormed in the room and ordered him leave. He then continued to have his fit and took it out on Ana. Who ran out of the room crying when it was all over. He was left there standing thinking about what he had done.

Corinne came in the room after it was all over and walked up to him and put her hands on her hips.

"Don't say it, I know." He told her putting his hand up.

"I am still going to say it. You will never win her over if you keep doing that." Still in the same positions only he now put down his hand.

Jane enters the room bowing, with both of them looking at her, "Sir there is a gentleman here to see you. He said it was urgent."

Aro nodded and followed her into the main room where the three chairs were placed. As he entered he saw his friend standing there looking very depressed.

"My dear friend, how can I help you?" Aro asked, trying to being his normal self.

His friend walks up to him, "Dear Aro, please I am so lost. My daughter Anastasia has gone missing from her room just one night ago. Please tell me you have seen her?"

Aro lies and acts concerned but shakes his head no.

The father sighs, "I feared you'd say that. My dear Aro she is the most precious thing to me, please let me know if you hear anything or see her?"

Aro, "I promise dear friend."

The kings nods and then leaves the castle. When he is gone we hear Caius say, "I hope brother for your sake this doesn't start a war."

Aro nods and assures him that his friend will not find out. And then journeys to his chambers. As he comes closer he sees Corinne at the door knocking and trying to get in. But the door won't budge. Corrine notices him.

Aro gives her a questionable look, "What is going on?"

"She won't let me in. After your little mishap she won't see anybody. She refuses to eat or anything. She is completely upset. She only gives one word answers." Corinne said about to give up.

"Here let me try. . ." Corinne moves and let's him by the door. He knocks but she just doesn't answer. He keeps knocking but nothing. He becomes worried. "Ana, are you alright?"

"Go away!" She yelled from the other side of the door. His worries about her being alive were over.

"Look I'm sorry about before. . ." not knowing what else to say.

She just repeats herself. And he tries to get her to come on out just to eat something but the door doesn't budge. By this time Aro is becoming mad. He starts pounding at the door. Trying to break through. He finally does. He goes in there and walks angrily over to her. She moves away from him but as he gets to her he picks her up by the shirt.

"What is your problem ha?" He yells. "I have saved you from your tower and from anyone else who may dare harm you. What is your problem? You won't eat?"

"I didn't ask to be saved. I rather be in my tower than here. At least there no one holds me up by my shirt!" She said, he puts her down, but still as mad as ever though. She continues, "No one deserves to be treated like this! So really what is your problem? Ha?!" She walks past him, "I don't ever want to see you again."

He stands there and said nothing. She leaves the castle. Aro runs out into the hall and ask his brothers where she is and they tell him that she left. Aro runs outside and cannot see her from where he is standing.

She runs through the crowd pushing and shoving everyone. And as she is running she turns around to see he was not behind her. So she stops running and just continues walking in the direction of her home. All of a sudden it starts to rain, not rain but pour. She tried to cover herself with her hands as she jogged a little down the road. Soon enough she turned down an alley way. Just as she turned two men behind her turned with her. She turned around and saw that they were approaching her fast, so she took off running. She soon came to a dead end. She turned around and they were mumbling stuff she could understand. They got closer and then started to rip off her clothes. She started to scream they hit her in the head and she fell to the ground and covers her face. She falls asleep, just as they were about to do more things to her, she hears the boys scream.

As she fell asleep, Aro showed up and took care of both of them. He saw her laying there with her shirt torn to the point he could see her bra, in the pouring rain. He takes off his cloak and covers her body up, picks her up and carries her back to the castle. When he got to the castle he hustled to his bed and laid her on it. He ran on over to her his closet and got a shirt that would be a night shirt for her. He dressed her delicately and had a doctor come to check and see if she would be alright. Of course she would. Corrine watched as he had don't all those things for her and just sighed.

She walked in, he looked up, "is there something I could help you with?"

"You know it is best if you tried to get to know her and talk to her without yelling..."

"Corrine she will never see me other than a monster." He said stroking her hair.

"She can if you let her...at least try." She gets up and leaves.

He sits there and ponders on it then gets up and runs back to her castle. She stands outside it and then journeys up to her room and looks around. He finds a list on her desk. The list was a list of things to do, we she was allowed to leave her tower.

1. Ride a horse
2. Attend a ball just for me!
3. Take a walk in the gardens
4. Feel the snow on my face
5. Find love
6. Have children

He took the list with him back to his castle.
