Aro sat in a chair by her bed for hours upon hours. He just couldn't stop thinking that it was all his fault. He should have been there to make sure it didn't happen but it did. Then he got mad at who ever what suppose to be watching her wasn't watching her. He was mad then again at himself for not fighting harder for her. He regretted every time he was mean to her. He sat there thinking even when the sun came up. He then thought that she should be brought back home that way he could be with her. It wasn't long after that, that he scooped her body up in his arms and took her back to his home. Clark had saw the whole thing and ran to tell his master.
Meanwhile, back that the castle, the king just got done telling Nathan the story. Nathan is in shock and thinks for a moment.
". . . So you see, that is why I declined your proposal to her in the beginning, for this exact reason." The king said embarrassed.
Nathan came to his senses. "I do not think I want to marry your daughter anymore. I cannot handle that type of baggage . . ."
"But . . . Nathan . . ."
He gets up out of his seat starts to walk away, "No need, I will have her brought here by my servants. She shall be here in a few days . . ." Was all he said then he climbed up on his horse.
"Please sure I beg you . . ."
"Nope." And he road away.
The king walks back inside and makes ready for his daughters arrival.
Meanwhile Aro was able to get her back home in one piece. He rushed her to his room and laid her perfectly on his bed. He stood there for a few minutes taking in her sleeping form. He was just about to leave when for some reason he decided to look down. What he saw was in her hand, sticking out, was a piece of paper.
He took out the folded price of paper and looked at it. It was folded small enough to fit in her hand.
The paper then read: Aro. He opened it and read it's contents.
My dearest Aro,
I cannot stop thinking about how we left things. After much thinking I realized that i do love you. I have loved you since the first moment we met. In my fathers gardens. I am sorry but our love will have to wait for a while. Corrine told me the reason you were going into battle. I do not want you or my father to die for me. So that is why I accepted Nathan's hand in marriage. I know my curse will come upon me before I get to see you but I do hope you will be there when I wake up in 100 years.
Till then,
Anastasia
He put the letter down on his desk and smiled. Everything made sense now and he felt content. He would wait forever if that meant he could see her again. Hundred years felt more than forever away but he would have to endure it. At least for the time being.
"Yes Ana, I will be here when you wake up." He kissed her lips very lightly but passionately, knowing he would not feel them for a long time.
A few days went by and the king found out that Aro took Ana, and was on his way to get her back. Aro, during that time, has not left her side but sits in the room waiting for her to wake up. He plucked a rose from the garden each day and made it so she was holding it. Finally, one day, Aro was summoned to his throne room to deal with a problem.
As he entered he saw his cousin who looked like he was either going to cry but at the same time punch him.
"My dear friend, I am so happy to see you out of your castle at last. How may I help you?" Ari said pretending to be the light of the world.
"Cut the crap Aro I know you took her. One of Nathan's servants told me he saw you take her. Where is she? I have come to take her home." The king said with breaking eye contact.
Aro gives in, "Yes I do have her. And yes I did have her all while you were looking for her."
The king mad and in shock, "Why?!"
". . . Because I fell in love with her and did not want to leave her. I took her the first night I met her out in the gardens. I went and snuck into her room when she was sleeping and stole her away." Aro answered not ashamed.
The king pushed right passed him and went straight for Aro's private chambers. When he opened the door her saw her there laying on his bed sleeping. The king broke down and started to cry. He then stopped and then hardened up and turned to look at Aro.
"I am sorry. Please don't be sad. If you want I'll let you take her back . . ."
The king interpreted. "No, don't do that. I want her to stay here. Even while in sleeping she looks happier that she ever was in the tower. I can see that her heart is mutual for you. Keep her here. But please let me know when she wakes up and what happens to her during the mean time."
"Of course. I can at least do that for you." Aro looked at him and smiled. The king smiled back.
"I guess I have a new wedding to plan?"
"Oooh yes. Make it the day she wakes up. 100 years from now." They both laugh.
"I'll get right to work." The king laughed and left the castle.
He sat down beside her body, smiled and touched her hand. "When you wake up our life together will begin . . ."
