Chapter 4 Next Choice

"So you mean to tell me that I'm..... I mean we're not humans and you're not my siblings, then who the hell are you two?" She questioned.

Sand mumbled in response." Well you'll probably take a moment to remember who I am."

There was a large moment of silence. Even though she started thinking , it remained silence once a moment longer. As each word of the page continued to be examined. Rain went into the kitchen , bringing coffee for everyone. Rayleta declined as she got up and went into her room; with a blank expression on her face.

She was pacing in her room trying to remember but couldn't for a while. Once it hit her she finally started to break down in tears. Almost seemed to be that she went back to sleep, to them in the other room. They sat in silence around the table. Another couple hours after that went by and she finally came out, almost 10 when she came back. She was dressed in a tank top and skinny jeans; drying her hair. Sand couldn't stop looking at her till Lux glanced at him.   She must of taken a shower to finally cool off all these thoughts.

Rayleta had tears dripping down her face, catching his attention. His face lifted up. Her tone was relieved as she said," Sand.... I am glad your alive , even though the dreams felt real upon our encounters I knew you weren't dead. I felt you close But I was so blind."

Sands face was flushed a bright red color. As she went to grab the mail Lux then noticed the box on the table of all the sudden . He focused on it for a moment. There was something seeming off about it. So Lux was curious enough to shake it. There was a sudden ticking sound heard. Sand looked up after putting the files in his jacket. His first thought was to grab Rain and run out of the door. He was hoping to grab Rayleta as well.Ducking and covering as what was going to come. Lux then heard the final tick. Rayleta heard as it she got to the top of the steps.

But it was too late the box had exploded. Lux was thrown out the window onto the pavement. The blast caused Rayleta to be thrown against the wall. Making her collapse to the ground. A couple of beams fell on her. Sand was able to get Rain out, who rushed to Lux's side.Sand noticed Rayleta wasn't outside the blazed building. He happened to rush back in as people evacuated. As he wandered in through the flames, he tried calling her name. At first there was no answer.

But then he heard movement near by. Sand ran to where the noise was coming from. Once he got there he noticed Rayleta was standing there as if she just got herself unstuck from the beam. She looked at him with red eyes. Sand grabbed her by putting her arm around his neck; guiding her to the outside. Everyone gathered outside, huddling together watching the apartment burn in front of them. Rain held Lux in her lap watching it burn. Sand stood there with Rayleta's arm still wrapped around his neck as they watched as well.

About an hour came by and the flames died down, while the firemen and firetrucks dowsed down the flames. The neighbors were getting aided by the ambulance. A stretcher was brought over to Lux. Sand helped put Lux on one of them and the girls were on the other. Both Rain and Rayleta were in OK condition compared to what Lux was in. They still were delivered to the emergency room just in case. Once they arrived Rayleta had not much processed for what had just happened. Her facial expression was completely blank. Kitsune pulled the metal out of her arm from the beams.

Kitsune mumbled," Damn bitch , causing so much trouble , hope you learned your lesson."

Rayleta caught an evil death glare with Kitsune and replied," There is no need for that kind of behavior and name calling, he will be there in time for your baby to be born."

All Kitsune did was nod and finish stitching her arm up, She then stood up grabbing the counter to keep stable. She was due any moment now. Rayleta watched as Kitsune aid Lux; as he came out.

Rayleta spoke," Looks like it's not safe anymore."

Rain looked at her and sighed." Her baby won't survive, but we will be going back , but Lux won't have her for much longer either." said Rain.

" I have a feeling it's all an act." Rayleta stated.

"Indeed , once we go beyond the shield a lot will be revealed." replied Rain once again.

"Rainy if that's the case I guess we have no choice but to go." Rayleta explained.

A few hours went by and Lux was capable of making it to the birth of Kitsune's baby. Luckily all he need was stitches. Rayleta decided to walk around town and pack up the last bit of the apartment. Everything was changing all so quickly. Her thoughts continue to flood through her head as she walked about. Once she made it to the pier she sat on the edge of the dock and looked out onto the water. So many questions still remained in her head. But then it suddenly down poured right on top of her. That really didn't seem to bother her at the fact that she was getting soaked. 

Sand was walking around as well for one last time and noticed she was sitting there ; in the down pouring rain as he walked by. He walked over and put his jacket around her and gave her some of the drink that was inside the thermal; he carried.

Sand then spoke," A lot has changed the last couple days for everyone."

Rayleta took a sip of her drink. " Time flies, when chaos comes to play , A new journey starts and everyone lives are changing. Lux is a father and husband , Rains out of school and still going strong, But where does that bring us?" She asked.

Sand's face blushed in reply," Ray......"

" Yeah Sand...:? " She replied looking at him.

Sand stood up giving her a hand , " Never mind , guess we will have to find out sooner or later. The paths have only begun. Let the Adventures await."
