    Chapter 7 The Puppet Scars

Sand looked at Rayleta and said," You do know they are coming for you right Ray?"

Rayleta sighed and nodded. " I am aware they are after all of us." She replied looking up at him.

They all went inside and got some sleep. Each day went super fast. Rain practiced magic. Lux prepared traps in the house and within the outer border of the forest. Rayleta practiced fighting skills based upon the bow and arrows. Then sword fighting. Sand scouted and watched her carefully. She struggled with the bow and arrows. He jumped down from the tree that he was watching from. He snuck up behind her and push his hand on hers.

Sand gently moved her hand to the right position. She blushed from his gentle touch; hands that was rough like a hard worker. Being close to each other made then both have a flutter feeling with in their stomachs. He knew what he was doing. Sand guided her to shooting the arrow. Making sure it was straight aimed and her muscle were in the relax mode.

His lips tickled her ear as he whispered,"Now relax and release."

Rayleta let go and made a bull's eye on the target. She got overly excited , without noticing or thinking she kissed his cheek. Then ran to grab the arrow. Lux came towards her from the forest and she was like a little child. Rayleta showed him , her bullseye. He smiled and congratulated her. She point at Sand's direction. But when they both looked over Sand was gone. Sand was flushed but he went inside. Rain happened to once she walked into him.

"Oh Sand My sincere apologies I didn't notice you there." replied Rain.

"No worries Rain, I wasn't really paying attention either. Just got the head in the clouds." Replied Sand.

Rain then continued," You look worried, You know if things get of hand you know what to do."

"I am aware of that. It's just will she like it, I know she quite stubborn and would want to fight." He said looking at Rayleta who was certainly practicing with Lux ; sword fighting that is.

Rain looked at then as well and closed her book that she had in her hand. Then looked back at Sand. Whose eyes remained watching them sword fighting. She seemed pretty good at sword fighting. And catching on pretty quick. Then Lux and Rayleta took a small break and drank some water that was sitting near by.

"She will have to understand Sand, that everyone has a secret amongst them just hers seems a lot more deadly in due time she will know what power she is capable of." Rain said with a sigh.

Sand sighed as well ," She is capable to fight, even though the stubbornness comes from somewhere, I will give you that. The time is almost here, Just hope we will make it out of this alive."

Rain nodded and said," Well we will have to do what we can. But for now let's eat and get some rest. Who knows what will happen."

Rayleta came onto the porch with Lux. They were drinking the water that they had with them still. Rain went back in and came back shortly with bowls of noodles and vegetable. They sat there eating and talking about swords and bows. By the time they were done there was no food left. They proceeded to wash dishes together. Rayleta grabbed her bow and went back outside, but going on the border this time to see if she could practice shooting different target. Being cautious to all surroundings.

Rayleta wanted to explore for a moment, as she walked through the forest, it seemed rather quiet and still. Peaceful but She continued to be cautious as she walked in. She had no clue what the unseen looked like. Nobody really knew what their actions were or their intentions. Even there type of attacks they could use. There was a sudden rustle in the bushes. It sounded like footsteps. Rayleta quickly brought her bow up and ready to fire.
