"You sure you don't need LaMia to come with you?" My mom asked worried with a raised eyebrow as she sat down on my bed.
I just nodded my head, organizing my outfits in my suitcase. I was in the middle of packing my bags for my trip to Japan on my birthday. I don't want Laurent to feel bad about not spending time with me on my birthday, so I just decided to pop up on him while he's in Japan.
"I'll be fine, ma. I've been across the world by myself before." I whined
"I know. It's just that you're pregnant now." she states and I nod my head understanding "I don't want something to happen and no one is there to help." she says concerned
"Plus, LaMia can't come because she's performing with Bey for the Global Citizen festival in New York. There's no use for me being there when I'm pregnant." I explained and she sighs in defeat.
"Well how about Kaleena?" She suggested
"She doesn't have any type of internship or project to do while on summer break?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't think so. She's just been lounging around the house with Rayan testing this new camera she recently bought, and I'm tired of looking at both of their asses." she says shaking her head and I chuckled "I had to drag both of their asses out the house just to come and see you."
"I haven't seen Rayan in a while. How's he's doing?" I asked folding a shirt.
"You know that child has been through so much." She says and we both shake our heads."His momma kick him out the house again, so I'm just letting him stay at the house til then. Lord, that woman needs help. Lord knows I've tried to help her, but she's just too far gone." She says as I just shake my head
It's sad what that boy has to put up with all the time. His mother is a drug addict and his dad is nowhere to be found. He doesn't have any other family besides his older siblings that are just like their mother. He's basically the only one that's actually trying to do something with their life. He attends college and does little photography gigs here and there along with Kaleena. So at least he's trying to do something for himself. Kaleena has been friends with Rayan since they were babies. He's actually the one that got her into photography as a teenager and she's stayed with it ever since.
