I started working at Taco Bueno on Friday, and they started me at the drive thru window. I now have IMMENSE respect for people who work in the fast food industry.
So lets start with people who pay in 50$ or 100$ bills to pay for their one bean burrito. If you are going to pay for something and don't have anything lower than a 20$ bill, just use your credit card. I only have a limited ammount of money in the register, and most of the time, it is very difficult to break 100$ in 10s, 5, and a ton of quarters dimes and pennies. Plus, it drains what is already in the register to make change for later customers. If you dont want to use your credit card, run to the bank and exchange it for lower bills.
Secondly; if you want to place a HUGE order, please don't use the drive thru. These take some time to make, it stalls the drive thru line too. If you just take the 30 extra seconds to park your car and go inside, we can take your order, and orders from others without halting any lines.
3) Please don't flip out if your end up waiting 10 or 15 minutes in the drive thru. I know that alot of it on my first day was rookie mistakes, but keep in mind all the possible reasons the line may have slowed down; the assembley line may have run out of certain ingredients, somebody put a large order in at the drive thru, there could have been problems with the register, there is so much that might stall the drive thru line. Please just be patient, and remember that everybody who works there is human too.
4) dont ask for substitutions at the window; by this time, your food has probably already been made, and you changing your mind at the last second means we have to make whatever it was that you changed again.I guess in summary, please just don't be an asshole at fast food places.
