Things you can't ignore

- 7 - Clarke -

My first week of work went by very fast. But it was great. I have some nice and very talented students. All of them are very motivated to do the best they can and I couldn't ask for more. Bellamy and I texted a couple of times, avoiding the subject of last weekend. I followed the Blake's advices « ignore and let it pass ». On Friday evening though, Bellamy asked if he could call me and I have to admit I kinda started to panic. I let my phone ring a couple of times and picked it up nervously.

- Hey Princess! He said.

- Hi!

- You do remember I have a party tomorrow evening right? he asked.

- Duh, of course. How could I forget your birthday, Bell?

- I don't know... I mean, after what happened. I thought...

- It's all good Bell. Really! All good!

- Then it's all good with me too! he said, leaving us in a painful silence.

- Should I bring something? I asked to break the silence.

- Sure, whatever you want to. Booze, food, you choose.

- Great! We'll see each other at the party then! I said, trying to end the awkwardness of this conversation.

- Yes! Have a nice evening, Princess! He replied before I hang up the phone.

The next day I met with Raven too find Bellamy a gift. With my internship in England, moving on my own and my new job, I have to admit I didn't think about what I could buy him. And apparently Raven is in the same situation. We walked for ages through Chicago's shopping area trying to find the perfect gift. Raven finally decided to go for a bunch of bits and pieces, things for his apartment and things for his work. But I still couldn't find anything. I was known for offering meaningful gifts, but today, I couldn't find a sense to any of the things I found.

We finally walked pass Chicago's oldest bookstore and I got attracted inside the shop, knowing that I would for sure find something in here. And I was right. I searched some historical books, until I found the perfect one. An old edit of The Iliad, covered in dust yet beautiful. His mother used to read it to him when he was little and it's for sure the reason for where he is now, an expert of History. I found a simple gift box to go with it and checked out.

- That's the most meaningful of all the meaningful gifts you've offered him, I think. Raven commented.

- I've been quite difficult with him recently, I admitted. With the whole Lexa thing, the move... I guess it's a kind of « sorry » gift too.

- Oh, okay, I get it. Talking about that, I have to admit I was quite worried for Bellarke recently.

- Bellarke? I asked surprised.

- Yeah, that's what we call you with Octavia and the guys. Bellarke. You're best friends after all.

- Sounds a bit like we are a couple though. I replied.

- Oh no, shipnames work for friends too. Jonty is for Monty and Jasper. And this way, when we talk with Octavia about them, we just say Jonty, makes things easier. Just as for you, Bellarke.

- And why didn't I know about that earlier? I asked laughing.

- Guess you were too busy being Bellarke. She answered laughing too.

- So you said you were worried. Why?

- Well, I'm gonna be honest with you. I have the feeling something happened at your party. I don't know what, but you guys acted a bit strange at the beginning of the week, and so did Octavia.

- ...

- So something did happened? She continued.

- We slept together. I replied.

- Oh...

- But it didn't mean anything. I interrupted her before she continued.

- I know it didn't. I usually doesn't. I slept with Bellamy after my breakup with Finn. And look, we all forgot about it. She said.

- You slept with Bell?

TA TA TAM!!!! dramatic sound

Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait after the last update. With Easter's weekend, and the change of hour (we change hour in Europe twice a year, for summer and for winter. We move of an hour, it doesn't sound much but waking up at 6  means your body is waking up at 5... until you get used to it), I had some time management issues. 

But here is the chapter I wrote last week! Hope you liked it!!!
