I thought I would get out of the hospital the same day but the doctor wanted keep me in for a night of observation. But I had to go to work the next day, so Bellamy went to get me some things at my place.
The next morning, he came before his work to check up on me and he insisted to meet me at lunch at my work. He said he didn't want to leave me alone after yesterday. I accepted, and I saw this meeting as an occasion to have the conversation we need.
He waited for me outside the university where I was teaching. He was nervous, I could tell. He's doing that thing, where he puts both of his hands in his back pockets and stretches his muscles. I believe it gives him confidence when he's in a situation he's not comfortable.
- So, how do you feel, Princess? He asked.
- As good as this morning and every other hour, when you texted me. I replied, laughing.
- I was just worried.
- I know. So where do you wanna eat? I asked.
- What do you think of that Polish restaurant, down the road? He proposed.
- Sounds good to me.
We walked all the way to the restaurant chatting about work related stuff. Once we sat down and ordered our Pierogi, he mentioned yesterday's misadventure. He said he's planning to offer me thousands of Epipens, so that I'll always have one in my bag.
- I mean, If everywhere I go, there's a guy like Atom to save me, I'm fine. I said, smiling.
- Are you planning to see him again, to thank him? He asked.
I didn't see the purpose of lying to him, so I told him the truth.
- Yes, we're going on a date. Don't know when, yet. I have to call him.
I could see he didn't like it, he seemed annoyed by what I just said. He stayed silent, until he finally started to talk again.
- About him. You can't go on this date. I don't really have a good feeling about this guy. We talked when we left the room, and I don't know, there's something strange about him. He admitted.
- What are you talking about, Bell? I asked, annoyed.
- I don't know, really. It's just, like... He didn't want to tell me about his work. He probably didn't like our friendship, either.
- Wait a minute, Bell. Are you jealous? I asked.
- No, not at all.
- Gosh, of course you are. Tell me, were you mad that you weren't there to save me and that Atom did? I know I told you that as a best friend you're supposed to protect me instead of... But there's a certain limit Bell. You know what? It's just like with Lexa, you can't stand me being or even liking anyone else. I wanted to fix things. But now you just showed me I can't do anything. I replied, harshly.
- Clarke...
- No, Bell. The thing that needs to be fixed is not our friendship. It's you. You need to get your shit together and stop being so jealous.
- Clarke. Stop! This is not it. He begged.
- Then what is it?
- I... I... He muttered.
- You what?
- Please, don't go Princess.
- You can call me once you're done fixing yourself. Until, then, it's better if we don't see each other.
