Ann's POV
Someone flashed a very strong light on me which forced me to close my eyes. I felt a soft hand on my shoulder. "What are you doing here at such an odd hour? Its 3:25 a.m. ! "
I realized it was really Sis this time. She switched on the lights. I could still hear the fast beating of my heart. "I... I thought you called me downstairs" I managed to finally speak with a trembling voice. She gave me a concerned and confused look. "But I was in my room sleeping. I heard you talking so I came out to check whom you were talking to at such an odd hour."
What is happening with me? I asked myself. Should I tell Sis what happened just now? But maybe she won't believe me. I was skeptical moving here, what if she thinks I am making stories. I was debating within myself. "Hey! What happened? You all right?" She asked me, breaking my thought. "Yeah, I am fine. It's nothing." I lied to her.
She looked at me with a bit of disbelief in her eyes. But I gave her a smile which made her smile too. I didn't want my sister to be afraid or think me to be insane. So, I decided to hide this from her as of now.
We went back to our respective rooms. I checked my torch; it is perfectly working now. What happened then? I wondered while I slid under my blanket to sleep but I just couldn't.
Who was that girl? Am I really imagining things? But everything felt so real! I asked myself, lying on the bed confused as I kept staring at the ceiling. Is there someone else here? A person? An entity? My mind was completely filled with all these irrational thoughts. I was so afraid. Stop! Stop with these irrational thoughts! I mentally scolded myself. Everything has an explanation. I just have to find out what is happening and get it over with. I tried to console myself. But how?
I felt my vision becoming blurry due to tears in my eyes. I tried to wipe off my tears. But I was so afraid and confused about what to do and what was happening from the day I came here that I started crying. I couldn't control my tears. I slid inside the blanket and cried myself to sleep.
I woke up with a bad headache the next morning. It was 5:00 a.m. I thought walking out in the fresh air would help me to relax. I got into my tracksuit, tied my hair into a ponytail, and wearing my jogging shoe I went out of my house. Sis was still asleep so I kept a note for her on her bedside table and went out from this 'haunted house'. All these events were enough for me to call this house a haunted one!
The morning sun was peeking behind the clouds. As I stepped outside, I was welcomed with a very cool gentle breeze, gently touching the warmth of my cheeks and stroking my hair away. It was very relaxing. I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh morning air. Tall pine trees surrounded the place. As I looked around, I saw the snow-covered huge mountain ranges looking so serene in the misty morning light. The dew drops on grasses were almost frozen. Suddenly a flock of birds flew above me in the vast blue sky, chirping their beautiful melody. It was blissful.
I decided to take the path through the woods. The soil was moist, due to the storm yesterday.
The woods were so beautiful in the morning. I could hear the leaves rustling as the wind blew past them. Putting my headphones on, I started my walk.
"Hey!" I heard a voice calling me from behind. I turned around to find Siddharth, my new friend in school, waving to me. I waved back with a smile as I paused the song I was listening to and put down my headphones.
I never noticed before that he looked so angelic. Those grey eyes and black silky hair were mesmerizing, few strands falling on his sweaty forehead. His black tracksuit hugging his perfectly carved body complementing his tanned complexion and his trained muscles. The morning sunlight reflected on his skin making him look so gorgeous yet so gentle.
