Ann's POV
It was 11:00 p.m when we were returning home. It was an awesome day spent with him. He is so different, so amazing. I don't know why but I feel extra happy with him and I realized that I could really depend on him.
"I got you!" His deep and sincere voice still lingering in my ears leaving me all flustered. What is happening with me?
"Hey, Ann! Today was so great wasn't it?" He asked as we drove through the highway.
"Yup it was so awesome!" I replied smiling at him.
"But we are so late!" I spoke, as I looked over my phone to check the time. "I am sure your parents will be worried and might get angry!"
For a second it looked like he was about to say something but he stopped mid-track. His expression changed. He looked kind of hurt. I looked at him unable to understand what happened. Did I step on a mine? I asked myself.
"Well, I don't think my brother and grandma would mind much, and about my parents, I think they would love to see me happy and having a beautiful time as they watch me from the heavens..." He said, although his face held a smile yet I could feel the pain hidden in his voice and his eyes.
Heavens! I exclaimed in my mind. "I am so sorry" I managed to reply, feeling extremely bad for him, He lost his parents! How stupid am I to bring up something like this?
"It's fine," he said with a charming smile on his face, masking away even the slightest of vulnerability that he showed.
"Hey Ann!" he called out, his gaze fixed on the road ahead, breaking the sudden silence among us.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Wanna spend another day like this with me?" He asked, his voice showed he was feeling a bit shy.
"O...Of course!!" I replied with a smile.
We talked and laughed while he drove to my house. As my house came in sight all my good memories went blank and I could feel my fear gripping me. The dark woods passing us as we drove through the mountain road.
I swallowed hard and looked at him with all my fears prominent in my eyes. He smiled and held my hand tightly.
"Do you want me to stay over tonight?"
"..I..I don't know maybe," I said, my voice shattering.
"Don't worry, I am here with you!" He spoke trying to reassure me.
As soon as his words left his lips his phone rang. He picked it up and his face turned pale. Something was wrong I could say, but what, I thought.
"What! how is he now?" He asked over the phone perplexed.
"Ok ok... I am coming!" He said hanging up.
"What happened Sid?" I asked him, confused as well as concerned.
