Ann's POV
"Hey, Ann! Are you okay? Look at me! Open your eyes! Hey! Anwesha! " I heard Siddharth calling out in concern. I tried to open my eyes but my eyes refused to. "Talk to me! Please! Open your eyes! Please!" I felt his warm hands holding my cold ones.
I felt so weak. My head was aching too much. Very slowly I tried to open my eyes but the bright light forced me to keep my eyes shut. I felt his warm hands pulling me closer to his chest and lifting me up in bridal style, he started walking. I felt so relieved and safe. I placed my head on his chest and felt his warmth. I could feel his heartbeat as fast as mine. Before I could say anything darkness took over.
Arundhati's POV (Anwesha's Sis)
I have been waiting for Ann for so long outside her institution. It is getting late. All her friends have gone home. Where is she?
I called her so many times but she hasn't received any of my calls. What is she doing for so long? I was about to walk inside her institution when I saw a boy somewhat of her age carrying her outside of the institution in bridal style. He looked worried. "Hey what happened to her? "I shouted as I ran towards them.
"I don't know! After our classes got over she hurried out. I thought she was in a hurry to reach home!" He said, as we reached our car, I helped him to put her inside our car. "I went to Ankit sir for one of my chemistry doubts. When I was done I went downstairs and found her standing all alone in the corridor shivering in horror as if she had seen something strange. She was looking towards the empty corridor. I called her several times but she didn't respond. So I went towards her and as I placed my hand on her shoulder she fell in my arms unconscious." He explained. "Her hands were freezing!" he added.
"What!?" I exclaimed, confused while I tried to wake her up.
"Ann!" I called out shaking her. She groaned a bit and tried to open her eyes but was unable to do it.
"Sis?" She asked, her voice so gruff and confused.
"Yeah, I am here!" I replied holding her hand.
"My head!" She groaned "It's aching too much!" She spoke whimpering in pain.
"Don't worry, let's go home. I got your medicines, you try to sleep okay?" I replied as I helped her to lay down comfortably in our backseat. He stood there looking at Ann with concern in his eyes.
"Don't worry! She will be alright!" I replied as I slid into the driver's seat. I thanked him for helping her as I ignited the car.
"Oh! By the way am Arundhati, Ann's sister... And you are ?" I asked him while starting the car. "I am Siddharth...Siddharth Chatterjee. Anwesha's friend and classmate." He introduced himself.
I gave him a smile and drove away. I had to know what was happening with Ann. Why was she so afraid? What is bothering her? For the last few days, she was acting a little strange. I was sure she was hiding something from me. But what? And why would she hide anything from me? From the moment we stepped into this house I felt something strange. I sensed someone else's presence in this house. Has she felt the same? I have to know it...
All these thoughts ran in my mind, while I drove on through the foggy highway. Although my eyes were focused on the road ahead yet my mind was all puzzled up. I stopped at one of the signals when I heard a soft moan. Ann was gaining back her consciousness.
"Hey, Ann are you okay?" I asked looking back at her. "Hey, Sis!" She spoke with a very soft and trembling voice while making herself seat up straight in the passenger's seat. "I am okay now, but with a bit of headache." She replied with a cute smile. "Try to sleep, you will feel better," I replied with a smile and continued driving.
