¬£¬No Worries He'll Be Fine¬£¬
"How was school?" My mom asked once I got threw the door and dropped the mail on the end table by her.
"Same problem different people." I said going into the kitchen and grabbing an apple out the fridge. "I'll be in my room if you need me." I said making my way to the steps. I was trying to make it up before my mom could see my arm but I was not quick enough.
"Khalia?" she called out looking up from the mail. I just stopped where I was- which was on the second step- and turned my head towards her.
"Yes ma'am."
"What happened to your arm?" she asked trying to get a better view of it from the couch.
"Nothing." I went up another step but she stopped me again.
"Who did this to you?"
"No one. I already took care of it." I took another step up hoping she was going to leave it at that but I was wrong.
"Did Kelly do this?" She asked a little unsure and angry.
"No." I said a little defensively. "It was someone else."
"Tell me what happened." she said Jayting the seat next to her. I let out a sigh before making my way back down the steps to the living room.
"Fine." I walked over to my mom, sat next to her, and began to explain. "I was walking on the track, some guy wanted to talk. Told him I was not interested, he got mad and grabbed my arm. I told him to let me go, but he tightened his grip, so I kicked his ass." I said running it down to her.
"Khalia!" She exclaimed. Surprised at my use of vocabulary, I forgot whom I was talking to for a second.
"Sorry." I apologized. "I went to my locker to get my clothes for dance. Talked to Kelly, then he showed up again wanting to get mad. I left but he grabbed the same arm, and I kicked his ass again. Sorry about that." I apologized once more. "You see Kelly had nothing to do with it. The nurse gave me some stuff to put on it, so it won't get swollen and for it to stop hurting." I said digging through my bag getting out the cream and bandages the nurse gave to me.
"You always did bruise easily. Let me see it." I moved closer to her and she carefully unwrapped my arm. When she took, it off you could see where his fingers were. It was still a little purple and swollen. "I'm just glad your okay." she said examining the bruise a little more.
"Like dad says 'Show no fear and never be afraid'." I said quoting his words.
"Yeah, well let it breath for a wile, then come to me and I'll wrap it back up."
"Alright. Hey where is dad?" I asked looking around the room.
"In his office working on a case." She did not sound too happy about it. I think his job now is way cooler then being a waiter.
"What's it about anyway?" I asked just trying to make small talk. I do not know why but I just thought I needed to.
"Beats me." She hunched her shoulders.
I got up, put my books onto the steps, and went into the kitchen to fixed him a little snack, because I know he has not come out that room yet. I fixed him a sandwich with chips on the side. After I got his snack together, I put it on a tray, with his favorite, orange juice, and an apple.
I went to his office and he had papers and mug shots all over the desk. This looks scary. "Knock, knock." I said once I made it to the door witch was wide open. He looked up from his papers and blinked twice, as if he was trying to get his vision to clear up. It looked like he has not slept in days. Even though it is a cool job, I do not think this is for him.
