(Continued) Flashback Phil's Pov

I couldn't help but smile. Every aspect of Mason's flat was utterly adorable. The stuffed Nyan cat on the sofa, the tiny cacti balanced on the radiator. I turned my head to find a Snorlax bean bag laying across from a dark oak bookshelf. It was filled with what felt like hundreds of book trilogies, card games, and dvds galore.

My mood had somehow lightened. I felt slightly secure in Mason's presence, compared to my past overwhelming morning.

There were a few seconds of silence and I could see Mason tugging on the arms of his jumper. He bit his plump pink bottom lip.

"S-So, uh..." He stuttered scratching the back off his neck awkwardly.

"I'm sorry, I-I was just admiring your apartment." I explained quickly reassuring him.

He laughed under his breathe walking over his tattered couch. I'd assumed he'd been living here since uni. He sat down slowly sighing into the couch crevice. His eyes gestured me to follow.

"What do you want to watch?" Mason questioned flicking on the tele. "I have my dvd collection if nothing appealing is on."

He turned so he was facing me his eyes locked with mine scanning my face. Mason quickly darting his eyes, his cheeks now flustered a light pink.

What had I done wrong? I questioned myself. "U-Um I don't really care." I responded softly.

Mason stood up still avoiding my stare. "Would you like anything to eat, or even drink?" He asked eyes on the hardwood floorboards.

"No it's alright." I said lightly.

"Really Phil, I don't mind. I'm preparing myself something anyways." Mason encouraged. I could feel his pressure, it was banging against my skull.

"No really, I'm okay." I said simply, turning my gaze to his dvd collection across the room.

When he exited the room I immediately jumped to my feet curious to see what the boy had in his bookcase.

I scanned the shelf finding many watches that pleased me. Picking an anime I walked to the couch tossing the dvd across it. I had hoped picking an anime series didn't seem to desperate.

Or as though I was longing for time away from reality, which in fact I was.

Surely Mason wouldn't think so. And if he did it wouldn't matter. He was a genuinely kind person. He had invited me here in hopes to comfort. He would put it aside, maybe.

There was a crash from the kitchen followed by a silent curse. I laughed under my breath quickening my pace to the large kitchen entryway. Mason was shuffling to clean up the mess he had just made, frantically darting for the paper towels across the room.

His actions failed slipping on tea crashing to the tiled floor.

Laughter bubbled inside of me, and I couldn't help but let out a heartily laugh.

The boy looked up with rose red cheeks, now covered with his hands. "I'm such a clutz." He said into his palms.

I knelt down beside him, putting my hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry so am I." I laughed out.

He slowly took his hands away from his pinkened complexion, letting me gaze at his cheerful chestnut eyes.

He smiled a beautiful full cheeky smile.

Then his gaze turned to the mess under our knees.

"What are we going to do about lunch?" He questioned.
