(Continued) Flashback Phil's Pov

I wiped the tears from my eyes and hazley stood up. Mason followed scanning my weakened structure to make sure I was stable without his grip. I wasn't. I fell, Mason catching me and bring me to my feet once more.

"Sit." He commanded bring me to the couch. "I'll pop in the disc, just relax and I'll order us chinese alright?" I nodded and he headed to the kitchen to retrieve his phone.

I sighed heavily, my whole body ached. It seemed extreme, but I had never experienced such pain before.

My heart ached. I couldn't imagine a day without Dan's rose tinted cheeks that lifted with every grin. His laughter overfilled me with warmth and joy. He had a truly calming articulate accent. It could always seem to drift me to sleep. How I missed his touch. Wait. What? Did I jus-

"Philly?" Mason was now sitting on the couch beside me hand on my shoulder.

"Oh, uh s-sorry." My voice managed to squeak.

"Wanna start the film?" He questioned.

"Y-yes, ya sure." I said eyes fluttering.

Mason got up from his position next to mine and strode over to the light switch shutting off the overhead light.

He sat down, and I nestled my head in between the cushion and arm. I had taken a liking on Mason's apartment the minute I set foot in it. It was such a warm and comfortable environment, much alike to Mason.

Mason had a focused expression plastered on his face biting his bottom lip. I giggled under my breath. He shot his head my direction, "What? What did I do?" He asked nervously.

"Nothing." I simply answered smiling.

He scanned my face, and squinted his eyes, scrunching his nose. "Okay." He said sarcastically, smirking.

I didn't take my eyes off his. I was content staring into them, so we stayed in the position for a few short minutes.

"Hey Phil?" He questioned.

"Ya?" My tone now quieter.

"Why did we stop hanging out together?" He was silent for a short second and continued. "After we stopped communicating, I began to become distant from my other friends. Or the other individuals I socialized with. I had always assumed I was such a bother to everyone around me. I guess our distance proved so."

Mason looked down at his hands that were fiddling with his jumper arms once more. A single tear streaming down his face landing on his pant leg.

I grabbed his chin between my index finger and thumb and turned his face towards my own. I swooped his mop of brown tangled hair covering his hazel irises aside so I could gaze into his eyes.

"You are not a burden, Mason. Although you have convinced yourself this you are not. You are too compassionate and bubbly to be of any bother. Mason there has never been a moment when you have not thought of something to clear the eerie silence." I said.

Mason wrapped his arms around my waist holding a tight grip. He nestled his head in my neck. I smiled sighing. How could someone so overly kind think they would be of any bother? If anything I would assume them to be overjoyed with their gratitude.

"T-Thank you Phil." Mason exclaimed releasing from his grip. He looked up into my eyes, I felt the room turn his lips getting closer to mine.

What is he doing?! Am I leaning in?!

There was a knock from outside of the apartment, we both jumped. "Ming Lees order delivery." The rough voice said.

Mason quickly jumped up jogging to the doorway.

My head was spinning. Did I want to kiss him? He most definitely wanted to kiss me.

It didn't feel right. Of all the events that had occurred this morning and afternoon. Nothing seemed in place.

My life had been so perfect, simple before now. I had been strolling along and god decided to put this weight upon my shoulders.

This whole day was absurd. Why was Dan acting this way, so cold to me? Why had I been so cold to him?

My lungs ached I clenched my chest. I ran to the window in search of fresh air.

I looked out the glass and saw Dan running down the pavement. Why was Dan here on this side of town?

Mason came running over, "Phil what's wrong?" He questioned worriedly. I pushed beside him and sprinted to the doorway running down the four flights of stairs into the downpour.

Flashback Dan's Pov

Love. I had always felt inferior to the subject. That I never deserved it. Little did I know I was destined to love. The day his clear crystal waves clashed with my bland irises. His stare had an effect. A glint that stained into the dull, made its way past the dark and settled there.

Now I am running, in search of the glint I have lost. I will not let the dark settle. I will find my way back into Phil's arms.

Not hail. Not a downpour. Could stop my feet from moving.

The pavement below my feet was giving, sinking me to the wet ground. I fell into his arms and all went black.
