Chapter 5: Dinner with the Mafia

ROSE'S POV

I opened my eyes as the pain shooting through my arm from the wound woke me up and saw the stars in the early night sky through the window as I laid on the bed.

"The stars sure look nice," I whispered as I closed my eyes to fall back asleep.

Stars?

Early night sky?

OH SHIT!!!

"Omg what time is it,"  I said loudly as I shot up out of bed only to send more pain through my arm and then glanced at the clock that hung on a wall to the side.

I had had enough of Cristiano's pissy mood to put up with him nagging at me for arriving late to dinner.

"Oh good God it's barely 5:45," I sighed with relief as I plopped back on the bed holding my hard and then there was a knock at the door.

"Come in it's open."

"Hey I didn't interrupt anything right," Tadeo asked jokingly as he walked in.

"No I actually just  woke up from a nap a couple minutes ago," I said standing up and wincing from the pain.

"Here, my mother sent this to help with that pain," he said handing me a flask of ibuprofen.

"Thank you," I replied as I threw a couple in my mouth and took a drink of water from a bottle he had also brought.

I noticed he had a small bag he was "hiding" behind his back.

"Um what's with the bag," I asked giggling at how much he failed to hide it although he was "trying".

"Oh this? My mother sends it as...well as an apology for earlier today," he said handing me the bag.

"Aw tell her thank you but she really didn't have to," I said as I hugged him.

"It's not a bother cara mia she likes you very much and wants you to feel at home and welcome," he stepped back, "You should probably start getting ready. If you take as long as Camila takes getting ready you're running low on time." (...my darling...)

"No I'm good. I don't really do anything too crazy, " I laughed and he walked out of the room.

I sat back on the bed staring at the small bag for a bit and after a while finally decided to open it.

"Sorry for everything this morning. Unfortunately its only the beginning of what you'll be experiencing now that you're part of us mi bambina. I took the liberty of buying you a new wardrobe while you slept since you brought nothing with you as this was all unexpected please accept it and also the contains of this bag as a welcome gift. See you at dinner tesoro, Carlotta." (...my little girl; ...sweetheart.)

Wow she's known me only a couple weeks and she's boughten me presents just because of a bullet wound.

I opened the box that was in the bag and it had a nice silver necklace with a black onyx pendant shaped as a heart that had silver swirls wrapped around it.
