CRISTIANO'S POV

Mama and I left Rose in the infirmary and walked over to the living room to join Nonno and Tadeo.

"Cristiano, come sit here next to Nonno," the old man said patting the empty seat next to him on the couch as we walked in.

I walked over to him as Mama and Tadeo went into the kitchen for some tea that according to her would help calm us all down. I knew it was mostly for me though.

"I know this is a hard time Cristiano and I bet you're wondering why you feel the way you do as far as being scare of losing her, right," he asked me as I sat down.

I nodded at him and he picked up an album off the coffee table.

"I think you and Rose were meant to be together since you were only children," he started as he opened the album and started flipping to the pages before stopping to show me a picture of me kissing a little girl .

Shit I was a casanova since I was little. That's kinda awesome.

"This is you and Rose when you were about 7 and she was around 4 I believe," Nonno said as I stared at the black and white photograph.

Rose? I kissed Rose when we were little? That's insane...but it does explain a lot.

"That's the same girl I saw in a picture on Papa's laptop," I said shocked at the connection, "so our families would get together a lot?"

Nonno nodded, "I was good friend's with both Rose's father and her grandfather too. Your Papa and hers grew up together as neighbors back in Mexico."

They used to live in Mexico? Lucky. I had always asked Papa if we could move there but he never wanted to. Now I know why.

"That day Rose and her family had come over for Easter so they were staying her on the estate in the exact room Rose is in right now. You two would play all the time and a couple days before they left you two had gone off to play in the front yard. We didn't pay much attention until we didn't see you running around as you usually did. So we went out to look for you guys and when we reached the cars we saw you two pecking each others lips so your Papa ran back into the house for the camera and got this shot of you two."

I smiled at the story and at picture. We were just kid's in love but had no idea what that meant at the time.

"When they left you cried for hours and didn't eat for days. You were such a depressed boy that your Mama thought you would die of sadness," Nonno laughed, "When I say her again last year I knew that you two would reignite that childhood spark when you met again."

I couldn't help but laugh a bit that the old man had been right. Unknowingly, I fell for the girl I had already fell for years back.

The more I thought about it the more I was convinced that we were completely meant to be and that I couldn't live without Rose for even a day.
