Chapter 6: Make Out's and Monopoly

Emory's P.O.V

"Em, how drunk are you," he asks

"I don't want to talk to you," I say storming away. 

But Shor being Shor does his signature move of pulling me gently back by my wrist.

"Whats wrong?" 

"Nothing, everything fine," I say yanking my wrist out of his grip running inside to find Penny. 

"Have you seen Penny?" I ask one of the Homecoming committee girls I recognise. 

"She went that way with a boy I'm not sure who" 

"It's fine I know exactly who it is," I say running down the hall before Penny makes the biggest mistake of her life.

I hear her voice down the hall. 

I burst through the door hoping I made it in time "Penny Mesa he's not the one you can't do it this is the biggest mistake of your..." I stop yelling once I realise what's going on. "What going on here?" I ask

"We're playing Monopoly," Penny says obviously too drunk for her own good whereas I'm sober as all hell now because I vomited any alcohol out of my system. 

"Hi Noah I'm Emory, Im obviously not gonna get a proper explanation from her so could you explain to me what exactly is going on here?" I say and he stands up motioning for me to follow him outside. 

"I'll be back Pen, no cheating", He says before closing the door. 

I clear my throat hand on my hip waiting for him to explain. 

"Hey have you been crying, are you okay?" He asks sweetly, wow are all the football boys so nice what the hell?

"No I'm fine now please explain how you and my friend ended up playing monopoly" 

"Okay well she drank way to much and so I was looking after her but she kept trying to throw herself at me, eventually she vomited all over herself so I took her into my room and put her in one of my shirts and a pair of my boxers, she kept throwing herself at me and I kept telling her that I really liked her and not like this and stuff but she wouldn't stop until she found the monopoly and so I asked wether she wanted to play and she did so thats how we got here" He explains.

"Oh okay well, I think me and Pen are gonna head home, I'm kinda done being here", I say referring to the Shor situation which he doesn't know about. 

"Okay well I'm driving use because you look to upset to drive and loopy lily in there isn't driving anywhere in her state" 

"I couldn't make you to do that, it's fine I can drive" 

"No it's no hastle really I have to drive Shor home anyway", he says winking when he says Shor

"Oh yippy", I say sarcastically. 

"On the outs with bae?"

"Were not baes? I've only talked him like twice" 

"Sweet heart you know he's madly in love you right?"

"Don't be stupid" 

"I'm serious your all he talks about, and don't have a sike he didn't tell me I guessed, all he ever does is come up with new ways to hang out with you"  

"Didn't look like he was madly in love with me when he had is tongue so far down Chloee Godfries throat" 

"What are you talking about?" 

"I'm talking about me walking out onto the back porch and seeing Chloee on his lap with her tongue down his throat" 

"What!"

"I just told you"

"Sorry I'm just dumbfounded as he hates her" he says sounding genuinely confused "It just doesn't make sense he didn't even want to come tonight something about you blowing off his text or whatever he's been sad since that day use hung out last, theres no way he would just go and make out with Chloee" 

"Well trust me it was him and trust me they were basically fucking with clothes on I saw what I saw", I say. 

"Okay well you go get Pen I have to get to the bottom of this" Noah says running off down the hall. I'm assuming to go find Shor I don't know what he's expecting to find out Shor and Chloee made out. I don't care it's not like we were dating we weren't even friends we were acquaintances and we kissed once, it was one magical kiss but it was a mistake I'm not cut out for his lifestyle. 

"Penny comes on lets get going", I say picking her up off the floor and bringing her to her feet. 

"Where's Noah, we haven't finished our game", She says almost falling and slurring her words. 

"He's gone to get Shor, use can play another time Noah has to drop us home now" I explain slowly to my drunk friend. 

"You know I've known you as long as I can remember and for as long as I can remember we've been best friends and I've told it to you straight, so thats what I'm gonna do now, you my friend don't smile much" I laugh listening to my really super drunk friend talk and wonder where she is going with this. "And since you've been hanging with Shor you smile more and your smile is so pretty, and whenever you talk about Shor your eyes glimmer with happiness and when ever use make plans excitement washes over your face, you act like your to cool for school and you don't care but you like Shor the only reason you freaked out when use kissed is because you like him a lot and your scared of how much power over you he has, and I know its scary to let your feelings for someone out there to let them know that they could crush your very soul by leaving, but emory you have to put yourself out there once in a while, Shor likes you a lot I know it you know it Noah knows it, just put yourself out there" Penny finishes still slurring her words but speaking the truth. Drunk words are sober thoughts.

Unlucky for Penny I didn't want to hear the truth "Penny shut up, you don't know what your saying, your drunk" 

"Okay Emory keep hiding from your self", Penny says before yawning and falling asleep on my back as I piggy back her out to where Noah's car is.

"Emory I need to talk to you", Shor says as I finally reached Noah's car penny still on my back

"I don't want to hear it" 

"Just hear him out", Noah says

"Look I don't have time for this right now, Penny needs to go home and I need to go with her", I say 

Shor give Noah a look.

"I'll take her home, I'll look after her, I'll make sure she gets to bed safely, Shor will walk you home and use and talk it out, I know we only just met but trust me Emory if what we talked about before has any effect on you you'll wanna hear this" Noah says 

I just nod in agreement passing him a sleeping penny and watching as he puts her in the front seat buckles her in and drives away.

Shor and I both start walking home an awkward silence paints its way into the air around us, until after about 7 minutes Shor says something 

"Look Em..."
