Emory.

"Come on Emy it'll be fun. We're such introverts it's our last year of high school and we know practically none of our senior grade. We need to get out a little bit, were so set in our ways," Penny complains.

"I like our ways, I like my home, I like my bed and most of all, I like not having to interact with people"

"Emory Maya (My-a) James, you are coming with me to this football game, were going to co-exist with our peers your going to cheer on our team showing school spirit and you gonna like it. Now I'm already dressed go get your but into that huge walk in closet and pick out an outfit warm but cute cause the football team will be there obviously" She yells

"I don't need to dress cute for the football jerk faces"

"NOW EMORY"

"Fine fine"

~

"I can not believe I let you drag me out here" I yell at penny while we sit on the Antarctic level cold bleacher.

"I told you to dress warm," Penny says warm as a duck in her jumper which is her third layer over her singlet and long sleeve under it.

"I would be warm if we were anywhere but on a football field which just so happens to be negative 12 million degrees" I whine

"Stop being so grumpy, we just scored a goal," Penny says standing up and hooting for the team, whilst I sit arms crossed pouting. "Don't pout honey you'll wreck your lipstick."

"How much longer?"

"Well we've gone into over time, next touchdown wins," She says excitement glowing in her eyes, penny knows a fair bit about football she's watched every game with her dad since she was able to talk.

"Okay who's winning"

"It's all tied up," she says rubbing her hands together with a devilish grin.

She lives for this competition shit.

"They did it, we scored, we won, marino high won the first game back" Penny pulls me up jumping around with me in here arms as the rest of the people either do the same or pile out of the bleachers onto the field.

Penny lets go of me running onto the field. I am just left standing at the second last stair on the bleachers arms crossed watching the wave of people on the field.

The team lifts up there winning scorer and of course it's none other then Shor freaking Mallory 'star quarter back and captain' I start to shake my head at them just as I lock eyes on Shor he's smiling the biggest pearly white grin and when he see's me looking at him he smiles even bigger. I can't hear anything but he lightly taps one of his mates saying something, they then put him down and I lose him in the crowd for a minute before I see him pop up again at the end of the bleachers.

Oh god he's coming up, I quickly look around for somewhere to run but the only way to go is down and knowing me I'll fall, so here I stand arms crossed dirty look painted on my face awaiting Shor's cocky self to come say something.

Shor.

Emory's here I see her standing on top of the bleachers by herself the hugest smile works it's way onto my face. This stupid playground crush. She stand there arms crossed looking unimpressed to be here.

I run up the bleachers to her.

"Emory, your here, I've never seen you at a game before," I say still beaming her melted honey brown eyes bore into my soul.

"Well considering until this morning you didn't  know I existed that makes sense," She smirks sarcastically.

"Oh yeah I guess you're right, sorry," I try to hide my slight hurt.

"Look, I'm sorry that was rude and you haven't done anything to me. To be honest I haven't ever come to a football game I don't understand the rules and it confuses me. But I know who you are I have heard all about you, the popular guy who thinks he can get whatever and whoever he wants. Well I'm not just another air headed cheerleader in this school and I'm not gonna throw myself at you. So if you honestly want to get to know me it's not gonna come easy" She says her stance oddly serious and her eyebrow's raised as if it's a question. After a second look at her stance, I realise she's cold.

"You're shivering, here have this," I say handing her my letterman jacket.

"No, I couldn't"

"Please, I want you to"

"Fine, but only cause I am freezing, these field are worse then Ice Hockey"

"Yeah there pretty bad" I pause for a minute as the sight of her in my jacket knocks me back a bit she looks gorgeous even more then usual. "Look I'm serious about getting to know you. Come with me to the celebratory party at Noah's," I say more begging then asking.

"Okay first of all parties aren't my thing. Second of all parties aren't my thing. Did you listen to anything I just said, I'm not just another school girl who's going to 'get to know you at a party' a party is an awful way to try and start this friendship or acquaintancship what ever you want to call this and even if I wanted to, which I don't, I'm here with Penny she's staying at me house" She says sternly making quotations with her fingers around 'get to know you at some party'

"No, no, no, no. I didn't mean it like that at all, I'm sorry. I get it look meet me back at here at 5am tomorrow. Please" I plead

"5AM???" She yells shocked raising an eyebrow "I'm not much of a morning person"

"Just please, just this once"

"I have a strange feeling I'm going to regret this, but okay" She sighs rolling her eyes. "Your boys are waiting for you," She points down to the bottom of the bleachers.

"Okay well, I'll see you tomorrow?" I say more as a question then a statement.

"Sure"

"Okay see you tomorrow," I head back down the bleachers.

"Wait Shor!"

"Whats up?"

"Your Jacket," she says trying to take it off

"Keep it," I say heading down the bleachers

"This doesn't mean were going steady Mallory" She yells at me as I finally get to the bottom.

I just laugh and yell "5am sharp" Then the boys and I head out.

Emory.

"WAS THAT SHOR MALLORY YOU WERE TALKING TOO?" Penny screams at me as I walk down the bleachers to meet her.

"Yeah he has some obsession with getting know me as he didn't know who I was and he apparently knows everyone else in the school" I explain.

"Completely untrue, he doesn't know me"

"Uh yes actually. He does. He told me"

"Wait. IS THAT HIS JACKET" she begins waggling her eyebrows.

"Slow your role. I'm giving it back tomorrow,"  I reply as I pull out of the school carpark.

"You know if this was the 60's that jacket means your going steady," Penny says and I just laugh, our brains are so similar.

Shor Mallory you may be starting to change my perspective on Football Jerk Faces. But my walls no where near to coming down yet.
