I woke up pretty early, considering the time we slept, of course I did. It was around 4 am when I actually got out of bed to get ready. Monday, ew. I spent a few minutes in the bathroom, painting again. Though, I made sure to cover them with a few more bracelets.

My now blue-ish purple hair was slightly wavy, and is ready for it's first day of school. My outfit, was different to what I would usually wear, but still somewhat the same. Black ripped jeans, a Nirvana tee, and some black Jeffrey Campbells that I got yesterday. My makeup more dark, because I felt like it.

----

We were all ready to go to school, ready for the stares, ready for the world.

Ready to be called more of a punks than we already were. We were ready.

"Now, during lunch we should meet up at that fountain, just to change things up a bit." Maya spoke.

We nod, heading to class once the bell rang. As I passed through hallways, people kept staring, laughing, making my confidence slowly fade. I shrunk into myself, rushing to whatever class I had first.

"Ms. Styles, please sit next to Marcus and Christine, you sit next to Maya. I'm getting tired of you two flirting and chatting together." The teacher informing us as we entered the classroom. I nod, my eyes suddenly fixated on shoes I was wearing and headed toward my new seat.

I could hear Maya groan, and a few other kids laughing.

"Good luck Marc, she's an annoying one." His friend says and pats his back as he walks by.

"I know." He mutters, head down as well.

I sit down on my seat, scooting away from Marcus as far as the desk went. My eyes still glued to the ground and played with my fingers.

"Listen, just because the teacher put me here, don't expect me to talk to you, loser." He spits.

"Wow, very original insult, idiot." I retort back to him.

"What'd you say to me?" He says grabbing my arm.

I silently wince as he does, the cuts from earlier still stinging, and most likely red. His angry face slightly falters but, comes back as quickly and grabs on tighter. Tears soon well up in my eyes, trying to resist the urge to cry.

'Don't cry now Riley, you just showed him you weren't as weak as he thought.' My mind tells me.

Cry. I dare you. Show the whole class, to your precious Marcus how pathetic you are.

My face shifts to the side for a moment, catching a glance of Maya staring at the both of us, as I straighten my posture and look at Marcus who was glaring at me.

"I said, that was a very original insult. Now, if you excuse me, I am trying to listen to the teacher." I say with the blankest face, and shove his hand out of the grip.

Making sure he wasn't looking, I readjust the bracelets into their original position and pretend nothing happened and wiped the sweat off my hands on my jeans.

*Marcus POV* (A/N: Surprise Surprise)

As I sat down next to Riley, a guy who I rarely even talk to pats my back and tells me a 'good luck'.

To be honest, I don't really need one, I didn't find Riley annoying but, I see Christine glaring at her so, I knew not to talk to her.

"Listen, just because the teacher put me here, don't expect me to talk to you, loser" I spit.

It just came out, I didn't mean to be that harsh but, I was so confused with everything that had been happening I didn't know what to do.

I hear her whisper something to herself, probably a sly comeback that she's keeping quiet about.

"What'd you say to me?" I whisper harshly, grabbing her arm roughly.

She flinches her arm but, my tight grip lets it stay. Now that I notice, bunches of bracelets were piled ontop of eachother. My glare falters, worry overcoming through my face but, soon realize that the class was watching us. Her brows furrow, looking around the class, her eyes glassed with tears, holding them in as hard as she can.

Her eyes shift to Maya, who was eyeing her worryingly as we talked. She soon stood more straighter, her eyes staying in contact with mine, just earlier her eyes were focused on the floor. Soon, her eyes are no longer watery and replaced with dark and hateful eyes.

She says another snarky comeback, louder this time and snatches her arm back. She faces back to the teacher, who was still teaching not knowing the scene that occurred. Before I face the teacher too, I see her check if I was still looking at her and I quickly pretend to be looking at the teacher. But really, I see her fix her bracelets that were messed about in the little fight, and I saw scars, a lot of them.

My eyes widen, and shake my head to tell myself this was a dream. Not until I remember what Maya told me right after I told Riley to get lost and kicked her out of my house and the day when the sleeve of her sweaters rode up and I saw the scars there as well.

*Flashback*

She lowers the sleeves of her sweater down more, as if she wouldn't notice he didn't just see her cuts. But, boy she was wrong. His eyes traveled down to the slightly soaked through sleeves and picked it up.

"Riley... Why?" He says, his eyes full of worry.

----

"R-riley cuts Marcus! And you didn't know that because you've been hanging out that slut! She cuts Marcus, and I know, right now, that she is having the urge to that exact thing right now!" She yells at me, my eyes wide in shock.

*Flashback Over*

My eyebrows furrow, my eyes back to Riley's wrist.

Did I cause this? Was it all my fault she is this broken?
