I just think they'd have a close relationship, like best friends)It was around 9 PM. Nobody was out, except a small boy. The boy had blue hair, and wore overalls with an orange undershirt, and black converse. He had lots of freckles on the tip of his nose, so it looked orange. He had bright green eyes. He was around 11 years old and lived with his two friends Harry and Robin. He had lived with them for as long as he could remember. His had had put him up for adoption and Harry and Robin were the people to take him in, and since then life was great.
He was out tonight though, because he was going monster hunting. Of course, any adult would say, "Oh Manny! You and your wild imagination. There's no such thing as monsters!" But he believed, no, he KNEW that there was something otherworldly out there. Someone just had to have the guts to search. Manny was going to be that someone. He skipped along. He had been out for about an hour now. He brought a phone with him, so that if he needed to call for help or if someone was wondering where he was, like Harry and Robin, they could call him.
Another hour passed. He had stopped skipping by then. He was just walking along tiredly, loosing hope in what he was doing. Maybe everyone was right, maybe there weren't monsters after all. He shook his head.
"Idiot." He said to himself.
Suddenly, he heard disgusting crunching and squishing noises. He stopped and looked around.
"Wh.."
Then he saw it. He saw a man, but he wasn't very normal looking. His eyes were all black except the pupils which were red. He had sharp teeth, and pale skin with some brown freckles along his nose bridge. Weird black stuff was coming out of the mans eyes, and he was wearing a black robe type thing with a yellow bowtie and red lines on it. His hair was black with yellow highlights. The man looked to be about in his twenties.
He was bent over a dead person, who was too torn apart to identify. The man was tearing bits off and eating it, his mouth covered with blood. Manny choked back a scream. He didn't want to send whatever this was after him to. Then he remembered. The man was a ghoul. Ghouls eat human flesh. Manny started shaking. If he was noticed, he might be killed and eaten. Same if he made the wrong move. He swallowed. He had found a monster, but what did he want to even do? Did he want to befriend it, or just find it and leave it be? No, he didn't just want to leave it. He wanted to befriend it he thought, because what else would he do? Never kill It, it still deserved to live. It wasn't the creatures fault that it needed to eat human flesh to survive, and he would never take it to get experimented on.
He swallowed back bile and started to approach. Instantly, the creature looked up. It fixed its eyes on Manny. Manny took in a deep breath, and gave a small smile. He waved.
"H-Hello.." Manny stammered. "I'm.. I'm Manny..!" He said, holding out his hand. It was shaking violently. He was obviously afraid. The man tilted his head and blinked once. Now, instead of his eyes being black and red, they turned to a normal color, brown, and the black had turned to white. Now he looked like a normal person, but covered in blood. He stared at Manny for a really long time, looking confused.
"It's a trick." He stated after a while. His voice surprised Manny a little. This man had a British accent, that sounded nice and soothing. Manny would have never guessed a thing like this man would have a voice like that.
"N-no.. Its not a trick, I promise.." Manny shook his head. "I-Im not like that.."
"Yes you ARE! All humans are like that!" He exclaimed.
Manny shook his head. "What's your name, friend?" He asked. He was trying to seem friendly to this ghoul. Maybe, if he tried, he could get this ghoul to be his friend. How cool would that be?? He could scare off all the bullies at his school with his friend. He smiled wider at his thoughts.
"T-Tony.. My name.. Is Tony." He stated.
Manny nodded. "Okay Tony," He said, sitting down next to the ghoul.
"Don't sit next to me.. You're a human. Humans are bad." Tony said, standing up and backing up a bit. "You're lucky I don't just kill you right now.."
Manny felt his heart beating fast. He was very afraid. "W.. Why are all humans bad?" He asked
"I don't have to tell you, thank you very much. That story is personal. I don't have to tell anyone." Tony stated.
"Well it would be nice to talk, right? I mean, I'm not gonna do anything. I cant do anything to you really. I'm a human, and you're a ghoul, ghouls are much stronger than humans are, so I wouldn't even take my chances with you," Manny said, matter-of-factly.
Tony blinked once, before sitting down on the floor. "I was only 10 years old, when my mother was killed by a human." He said quietly, not making eye contact with Manny. "Before that, I admired humans, I didn't want them to be killed or anything just because we needed to eat, so I refused to get my own prey. My mother would always say, 'Tony, one of these days you're going to need to learn how. I wont always be here in the world to hunt for you. What will you do then? You'll either get caught or starve to death.' And I always used to refuse to eat unless I absolutely needed to. Usually I tried to eat human food when my mother wasn't around me, but that all tastes like ash to ghouls, but I'd still eat it, which would always make me sick and throw up.. But one day, my mother was taking me out. She wanted me to learn how to do it so that when she was gone I wouldn't starve to death or keep making myself sick. Well, when we found good prey, this human was... really resilient.. Apparently this human wasn't wanting to die today, and wasn't afraid to fight.. He ended up killing my mother.. That's the day i had my first meal that I killed myself. It was that nasty human that ended my mothers life, and from then I hated all humans." Tony explained. He hadn't looked up once throughout this whole story.
Manny stared. No wonder this ghoul had no trust in him. "Oh.. Oh wow.. I'm.. So sorry.. I-I promise that not all humans are like that.. I mean, I'd never kill anything!" Manny said, trying to be optimistic.
"Sometimes, I wonder If she can still see me, still see me now, not merciful to any human.." He let out a sigh. "Oh, what would she think of me now.." Tony said. Manny stood up and walked over to Tony and sat down next to him, and hugged him tightly. Tony gasped and held his breath, stiffening up.
"Well... I think you're pretty great." Manny said. Tony started taking in shaky breaths and then he began to sob. Manny bit his lip and hugged a bit tighter, and tony relaxed his muscles and hesitantly hugged back. He didn't know what he was doing. This was a human. All of his instincts were screaming at him to just kill Manny, but he restrained himself and shut his eyes. He felt safe and loved, even if this kid was only 10. He smiled. Maybe not every human is bad after all.
