((This is a story based on my DHMIS town AU but its not part of the main story so ye)

Manny followed the tall man around every time he saw him around in the town. Tony was frankly annoyed by this, but he never said anything to the boy, he just ignored his endless babbling. Sometimes Tony would give him a small glance and it gave the boy immense excitement, because then, he knew, he was actually being acknowledged. Manny seemed to be obsessed with the other objects around town. Which human boy wouldn't be? They were like magic, able to control things with their many powers, but he seemed to be particularly interested in Tony, more than the other objects.

Today was another day.

Tony got ready to go out, hoping to avoid the human boy. It wasn't like he didn't LIKE the kid, he just didn't like him enough to be, well, friends.

As soon as Tony was ready, he left the house and began to take a walk around the town. He didn't have anywhere that he was really planning on going, he was just taking a normal walk, this is what he did every day. He didn't have a job, non of the objects really did. They didn't need money. You would find the occasional worker-object, like Gilbert, or Fred and Tanner.

As Tony was walking, he saw Manny waiting at his usual spot, the bench. He usually sat there, waiting for Tony to walk by, and then he would stand up and start following him around. Tony wasn't even sure if the kid knew his name.

Manny looked quite bored, just sitting there, but his face lit up as he saw Tony walk past, rather fast this time, but that didn't really help because Manny stood up and followed him at the same pace.

"Hi!! How is your day so far?? Mine was pretty boring until you came along and now I can talk to you!! I love talking to you!!" Manny said in an overly optimistic tone.

Tony sighed, continuing to walk, not saying anything, as per usual.

"I don't even think i know your name. Whats your name mister??" He asked, gaining no reply. Manny only smiled. "..That's okay! You can tell me later!" He said.

It kept going on like this. Manny would blab on, trying to get him to say something, but failing miserably. This happened every day.

"Hey mister! Hey! Why wont you answer me? That's okay; i'm used to being ignored! I know i talk a lot!" Manny said.

That's when Tony stopped, and turned to look at Manny, frowning.
"My name is Tony," He stated. "And I wont answer you, because i have things i need to do!" He said.

Those were the first words Manny had ever heard from the man. His eyes sparkled with happiness.

"You..! You said something to me!!" He squeaked. He jumped around Tony. "You like me!! you like me!!" He yelled.

Tony facepalmed. He picked Manny up from under the armpits.

"Where do you live, kid?" He asked.

Manny shrugged. "Places..?" He said.

Tony sighed. "You're not gonna let me take you home, are you?" He asked.

"Nope!" Manny squeaked.

Tony frowned, placing him on the ground again, beginning to walk off, Manny running after him.

"Were best friends now, and there's NOTHING you can do about it!!" Manny said. "It's diabolical!"

Tony shurgged. "Okay,"

Tony was willing to give the kid a chance. I mean, how bad could it be? The kid seemed nice.
