Love you how you are

(Heres the first story of my au!!)
Colin and Gilbert had known each other for quite a long time. They were a couple, and everything was perfect. They never fought, they always agreed on things. No secrets were hidden... usually. Colin was a scientist, and Gilbert used to be a teacher. Colin didn't know why he quit, because all Gilbert would say was "Things were getting too tough and people were beginning to be suspicious of me, so I quit." 
Colin never knew what that meant, and Gilbert wouldn't say anything whenever he was asked exactly what he meant by "Tough" and "Suspicious". 
Colin sighed, setting down his papers. He had been experimenting on some sort of plant, when Gilbert walked into the room.
"Hey," Said Gilbert.
"Hi Gilbert," Colin said, looking over at Gilbert. "Look, we need to talk, for real."
"Yeah, okay..." Gilbert said, raising an eyebrow.
They both sat down on the couch. Colin tried to find the right words. He knew if he said it in the wrong way, that he would just get the same answer he always did.. He wanted actual answers, and this time, he was going to get them whether Gilbert wanted to tell or not. 
"So.. I just wanted to ask you.. What are you keeping from me? I mean, you're usually an honest guy, but when I ask you what made you quit and why people were suspicious of you.. Please be honest with me. Please. I just want an answer for once... I-I wont judge you for anything, no matter what it is, I just need to know." Colin said
Gilbert stared at him for a second. He opened his mouth to speak. He didn't want to tell Colin the truth. He was afraid that if he did, he'd get experimented on, or something else, something worse. Maybe, Colin would leave him.
"I... I don't want t-"
"Just tell me." Colin interrupted 
Gilbert nodded. "Okay.. Well, when I was little.. Me and a group of friends were walking home from school. We decided to take a shortcut through the woods, because my friends thought it was a good idea, so we all did. About like.. I dunno, 20 minutes in, we realized we were lost so we tried to find a way out and while we were walking, this.. This giant wolf attacked, and.. I told the others to run, and that I would try to get rid of the wolf, but.. Uh.. That didn't really go as planned. The others got away without a single scratch, but I didn't." He pointed to a scar that was on his cheek. "The wolf had scratched me, and that's when I decided to run... I got home, and my mom tended to the wound and stuff, everything seemed to be okay, but ah.. Well, I've.. I've been sort of different since then? I am.." He sighed and looked down. "I'm a werewolf.." The last part was almost inaudible, but Colin heard it clearly.
He smiled. "Oh, so that's what all this fuss was about. I thought it would be something worse than that, no, none of that matters to me!" Colin said. "I love you exactly the way you are. Werewolf or not! You're honestly the best person I know, no joke." He said.
"Wh-what..?! You don't care? I thought you'd want to like.. Experiment on me, or.. Or leave me.. For what I was.." Gilbert said with wide eyes
Colin shook his head. "No, never!" He wrapped his arms around Gilbert. "You're so brave, for telling me this and for what you did that day!" 
Gilbert smiled a bit and hugged Colin back. For once he didn't feel horrible about what he was. He felt like he belonged, and he liked that feeling. He wanted to stay with Colin forever, and ever. He had never met someone so kind and understanding In his entire life.
