<3 Vet <3 Visit

So, my virtual peeps , with the weekend arriving , I need to take Artemis for a checkup at the vet . My dad had already brought us a carrier to take her , and promised to he me a ride after school. By the time I got there , I was surprised to meet Niall's dad - he didn't looked like him : brunette, short , brown eyes , a very relaxed and playful man . But you could tell right away that he was a very caring vet - he was extra careful with Artemis. He said that by next week we could start her on solid food , which was a huge weight off our shoulders.

By the time we were done , when we got back to the waiting room , Niall was just arriving form the college, this time wearing a polo shirt that had left little to the imagination - he was even more muscular than I had imagined!He leant down to hug his dad which only made the difference clearer .

I had brought some of the posters for the shelter , and asked if I could stick one there at the clinic . His dad was ecstatic and said that he was going to stick that right away . As I went in the back for tape , I talked to Niall .

I kind brought up that his dad didn't look anything like what I expected. He told me that he was adopted, and I thought he was going  to get all bummed out , but it didn't faze him at all. He talked about his parents with a lot of pride ,and how he worked hard to pay back for how lucky he was . I admit , my eyes got a bit moist ....

I asked them how much I owed them when his dad got back , but he insisted on not charging for this consultation. I was saying goodbye when Niall asked me how was I planning to go home back . I told him I'd gotten a ride there, but I was supposed to go back by bus , and he insisted on giving me a ride . The guy is a true gentlemen , he opened the car door for me and everything !

There I was in the passenger seat carrier on my lap all quite and sort of embarrassed . I decided to break the silence .......
Asking how he found the time to go to college and work at the clinic. Niall got all serious before answering , saying that he felt he owed a lot to his parents for all they did for him . But he flashed that smile and said it was a lot of work, yeah, but he did it proudly . He didn't even have much free time , but loved spending weekends sailing - a hobby he picked up form dad . Wow , he is so mature it's like he isn't just two years older than me !

He left me in front of my building , I thanked him for the ride , still a bit embarrassed. He was sure going to be a great vet someday , huh? But I have my work cut for me : this weekend I need to get the website for shelter done and decide my next step.
