I don't know about you guys but I don't exactly love the idea of mingling with student council . You'd think it would be a group that had my respect , but overall , I didn't like them much . But Zayn was preparing me from the get-go - he told me who each one was , how they thought and so on ..... For someone who was so anti establishment , he sure know his way around politcs.
I handed a bunch of copies of the project papers we had prepared for each member ( including Zayn) and introduced myself . After a deep breath , I looked them in the eyes and started my presentation .
I started my speech about social responsibility and the benefits of shelter .
I tried to make the cause clear as possible , but I could see several council members paying more attention to their phones than to me . I was losing them too fast . Damn ! As they paid less and less attention , I got more and more nervous , I insisted and pushed but the seemed to pick up on that and didn't help at all .
What DID did help was Zayn - he stood up and started talking to the right question , stuffs I knew hot to answer , but that caught the councils attention . He made a few remarks pointed at those who weren't paying attention and little we got them . It wasn't exactly the most elegant speech ever but it was enough to get them sold on it .
After the meeting , Zayn came up to me outside . He told me it was on the way to school but approval was all guaranteed . And the administrative council would invite all the student families and ... That they programs were very popular but ... A lot of hard work .
I told him it was not a problem and I am more than ready for whatever was coming ...
