The people from the shelter emailed me today , thanking me for the web page we created for them - and I bet you all went to check it out , because I was told they received a lot of hits . I forwarded the message to my brother , but he told me I should seriously think about buying a decent digital camera , because the one in my phone "sucked big time" -and probably would be pretty useful if I planned to keep going with that plan. I always loved photography ,but never had the money to invest in it.

I felt divided - with this whole shelter thing , I really had to pick up my battles . But he was right: a nice camera would make the material a lot more professional. But I couldn't ask for donations for that....after all,the camera was for me.I guess I gotta work for it.

I waited till dinnertime to drop the bomb: I started rambling about all the reason I wanted ( needed , right ?)   a digital camera . Yeah , I was a bit dramatic , but it was good for a cause! My dad started with his stories about his drawing hobby as a kid , and how he'd ask his parents for a watercolor kit . My mom was a bit drier , and said it was kind of big thing to spring on them out of the blue . "Of course I don't want it as a present , you know?" , I made it clear  I wanted to know if I could help with something in exchange for some extra allowance .

Mom said she had a party to organize for the opening of a new wing hospital , and my dad said that he needed to "vectorize" a bunch of logos for a catalog - and that it was long and boring work , but not that hard . Except I only ad time to help one of them .

I will help my mom at hospital . My mom made it clear it was huge responsibility and a lot of work , but I promised I was gonna roll up my sleeves and do my best .

What I will get won't be enough to get the camera , but it's a start !Now , I need to do tomorrow's homework so I can help them after school.
