Chapter Six - Sì, Nonna

The next morning, as Isabelle groggily sat in the dining room eating breakfast, the door bell rang. It was rare that Isabelle wasn't late in the mornings. Other days, she hardly had time to eat breakfast because she was a deep sleeper. When she answered the door, the last thing she expected to see was Aubrey standing on the other side of the door.

"Good morning, Belle," she said cheerfully.

Isabelle was too busy staring at Sebastian who was standing next to Aubrey in a leather jacket who had his right ear in a painful twist. She had dragged him by the ear all the way to their house.

"My foolish grandson thought he could get away from me," she said, still smiling. It was starting to scare her. She then she looked at Sebastian and twisted his ear harder, "Se mi disobbedisci adesso, monello you'll have it from me, Capito?"

Thanks to Spanish classes, Isabelle could make out a few of her Italian words but she couldn't understand much because she spoke so fast. But nonetheless, she wanted to laugh. It was funny. The 6 foot tall bad boy in black jeans and a black leather jacket was bent down to an old lady's height with a painful look on his face. She wanted to laugh but she also wanted to live so she controlled herself.

"Sì, sì," he yelped. The bad boy getting his ear twisted by his grandma was really a sight to behold. "Scusami, ho Capito! Ah... lasciar andare, Nonna."

All Isabelle could do was stare. Good grief, he just spoke Italian and it was the sexiest thing I've ever heard in my life.

Aubrey let go of Sebastian who straightened up and rubbed his now red ear. Isabelle too shook her head, getting rid of all the unholy thoughts. Sebastian and sexy shouldn't belong in a sentence together.

"He was trying to run away but I got to him before he could drive off," Aubrey began to explain. "He's here to take you to school."

Sebastian snorted and looked away.

"Oh," realisation hit Isabelle. She'd forgotten that part of the conversation from the night before. "Aubrey, thank you. But that's okay. I don't need a ride, I can take the bus."

"Nonsense!" Aubrey exclaimed.

"Stop forcing people to do things they don't want to do, Nonna," Sebastian said, irritably as he shoved his hands into the pocket of his jeans.

Aubrey's glare had him shutting his mouth and looking away again.

"It's no trouble. You guys go to the same school so you might as well go together," she said.

It was then that Sebastian turned around and started walking away. Towards the car parked down by the street.

Isabelle looked at his retreating back worriedly. She didn't want to piss him off. She wouldn't ever admit it to him, even though it was pretty evident, that she was afraid of him. Very afraid of him.

"Oh don't worry about him, mia bella. He's just sulking," Aubrey said with a smile. "He's got an awful temper, that one. But he's a sweet boy."

Not knowing how to respond, Isabelle just gave her a weak smile which Nonna returned with a big grin.

"Are you ready? You should get going."

"Right," she replied as she walked back to the dining area where she had left her bag. She put her dirty bowl in the sink and took a bottle of water in her hand.
