She Surprises Me

I was sitting on the couch, in sweats, watching Mulan. The reason I say watching was because I was actually crying and not really paying attention to it. Lauren wasn't home. She was on tour and she had been for 6 months. I hadn't seen her in 6 months. My eyes were red and puffy from crying almost every single day. You'd think by now I would have calmed down. Wrong. It had only gotten worse. My friends checked on me every few days and I face timed Lauren but it wasn't the same. I couldn't give her random kisses, hold her hand, or just lay in her arms where I felt safe. I finally calmed down and started eating some candy I had bought from the few times I went out. Once the movie ended, I put in The Lion King. Ashley, my best friend, walked into the house. "Hey Camila. You alright." "I guess..." "Aww...come on Camila! Cheer up. Look, how about we go eat out tonight with Lily & Sam." "Fine." "Well go get dressed!" "Okay." I get up and go get in jeans and a nice shirt. I meet Ashley and then me and her drive to a restaurant I had never been to. I see my other friends and smile. "Hey guys!" "Hey. How are you?" "Fine." I order my food and then we eat. Once everyone is finished eating. Ashley pays the bill, then Ashley brings me home. "Well, bye and thanks." She smiles and I open the door. "Surprise!" I hear a chorus of voices and all the lights turn on. I gasp, tears filling my eyes and I see Lauren standing there with a bouquet of flowers. "Hey, baby..." I run to her and hug her tight. She returns the hug and I say. "I've missed you so much." "I've missed you too baby." "I love you, Lo." "Love you, too Camila." The whole night was me talking to either Lauren or friends I hadn't seen in awhile and I ate cake. I mostly spent time with Lauren though.
