All he saw was that she smiled,
even when it wasn't worth her while.
Never stopped to question why,
no one had ever seen her cry.
But her reason was she had no tears,
and was nothing but a jumble of fears.
He never knew of all the things said,
to make her wish that she were dead.
He never noticed her lack of trust,
no openness, no love, no lust.
All he saw was that she smiled,
even when it wasn't worth her while.
