A New Life

Have you ever just popped up out of nowhere into a whole new world? And I mean literally. Well, to tell you the truth, it's a horrible experience. It's not a brand new start, and it's not a clean slate.

The part that really stinks is that there was no warning, no hint, no nothing. It just happened.

The thing is, when I tried to asked where I was, people just said "this is Place of Lit".

Now, I had no idea what they meant by that, so naturally I asked them. "What do you mean 'Place'? What year is it? What country am I in? Please tell me". The answer? NOTHING!

I didn't get what that meant at all. I figured that it was probably in the future or something. Yet, someone said that it was Turn 2014 Moon 16, Sun 3. Whatever that meant. Right after that, the random person who apparently just gave me the date laughed so hard, it shook the bones in my body. I don't see how there was anything funny with what just happened, but they mumbled something like 'potato girl' before sauntering off.

The first day was pretty depressing. People were talking in a language I never heard of, and there was nobody who even tried to help me. When I said "you're kidding, right?" to a lady, she stared at me like I just grown two heads. And everyone turned up their noses at me like I was a dirty, annoying hobo.

Although I still had fuzzy memories, I couldn't get any of the details. When someone muttered that I had a strange aura, I understood what he meant. Yet, I couldn't remember why I was different, or how I knew that I was different. The only thing I remembered was that I was something powerful.

It was like trying to look through a window with every millimeter covered in smudges and grime. No matter how much you squint, you would only just barely be able to glimpse blurry figures on the other side.

At first, I thought that the whole thing was just a dream. Yet, I had a sinking feeling that it IS real. I was so confused and frustrated that I felt like jumping off a cliff so all this confusion would end. It felt like I was grabbing on to something that is supposed to be there, but just isn't. It was like trying to grab hold of air. Air is something with no form, no color, almost nothing, yet it is still there. No matter how hard I tried, those memories just wouldn't come back.

I found myself forgetting more and more as I was desperately trying to remember what happened and why I was here. Eventually, I gave up trying to remember. Instead I tried to start a new life.

Huh, this book isn't very interesting so far. I'm just not that good with WRITING stories. This was awesome when I thought about it in my head, but it isn't turning out the way I want it to. *sigh*

PLEASE KEEP READING! It will mean so much to me if you leave a comment! Tell me what you think! I don't care if you say this chapter is horrible! Just tell the truth, and comment about your thoughts! Pretty please? Be nice to a not-very-experienced-at-writing-middle-school-girl?

Huh, probably nobody will even read this anyways... This story will probably never get more than 25 reads. As for votes, probably less than 11... *sigh*
