Chapter 5

I woke up for the third time in god knows how long. This time I was determined to find where I was. I got out for the bed realizing I was no longer in my clothes I was hospital gown. I looked around for my clothes to no success. Then I looked towards the closed door realizing the familiar voices. I had to get out and quick! I finally find my clothes and put em on fast. I look for my weapons but I am left with nothing. God damn it!!

I hear the doorknob turn and hide behind it as I grab a bed pan ready to hit someone with it. When the door opens I see the kid I saved from the vampire walking in slowly as if he knows I'm hiding. I snap out of my thoughts to see him turn around and look at him.

"A bed pan? that's ur weapon of choice" he said as he laughs a bit

"Who are you? Why am i here and yes it was the first thing I grabbed" I say as I smile at the last part.

"The name is Devon and your here because that vampire almost killed you and I called 911 to save u after the vampire ran off, I thought since u saved me I could do the same. Now tell me who are you?" he says with the slightest amusement.

"I'm Nicole and how do u know about vampires ur only a human?" i ask curiously

"I'm a hunter I was sent to kill her but things went wrong. What are you?" he asked me as he eye raped me.

"Ok and for one stop eye raping me and for two I'm a fugitive demon who hunts and kills everything and saves humans from the unknown I know sounds stupid but that's me believe it or not" i told him as I looked for an easy way out if needed.

"Wow a killer saving the prey that's different. So who's hunting you? "

"Demon king and anyone he hired"

"Wow that must be hard no worries I owe u my life and I will protect u at all costs I protect you." he says as he hands me a dagger.

"What's this for?" I ask as my hand grabs the handle of the dagger.

"If u don't believe I will protect u and I'll hurt u then kill me now" he says as he stands there unguarded

I contemplate killing him for a minute then realize he is truly sincere. "Not yet, but give me any reason to believe that you will turn on me and I will kill u and throw you to the hawks got it? " I say as I hide the dagger in my boot.

"Come on I'll have you discharged and I'll take you wherever u want for lunch" he says as he holds the door open for me.

When I was discharged I decided to eat at this place the humans called , McDonalds. Devon bought me a coffee and a quarter pounder. As I finished I realized I had rot get back home.

"Devon I have to get home soon how long was I in the hospital? " I asked

"Ok I'll walk you home and you were there for 3 days"

As we walked back we talked about family and our backgrounds. I found out when Devon was 2 he was taken from his family and trained to be a hunter and that when he tried to run away they would beat him and that he was there for 16years and he is now 18 and hunts alone killing anything because when he was 14 he fell in love with another hunter who was killed by a demon who was after him and ever since he has hated demons. i was the only one that he never killed becaused I saved him and almost died doing it. and I told him how when I was 10 I saw a demon hurting a girl and saved her and he took me in as a slave changed me and we had become like family since because my real family never wanted me.

While me and Devon were walking to my home we saw a little kitten dying of starvation and I picked it up and I decided to take her home and make her better. we stopped by a pet store and grabbed kitten food and a collar and some other stuff and when we got to my place Devon decides to crash on my couch while I took care of the kitten. That night was the beginning of many more like it.
