Little Wonders

4 Months Later:

"Babe, we're gonna be late," I called up to Oli.

He rushed down stairs and planted a kiss on my cheek, "Sorry, love. You could've gone without me."

"Now why would I do that," I asked as I straightened his tie. I kissed his nose, "You're my plus 1, remember."

He laughed and escorted me out of our flat. I was MoH for Jess and it was her wedding day. I'm not gonna lie I was super stoked that she and Jaime were getting married but I knew that it would mean facing Tony, Sarah and their little boy. That was the part I wasn't sure I could do.

Oli opened my door for me and helped me in and we were on our way. We didn't live too far from the church but I still needed to be there early for Jess, it was my job. I looked down at myself and frowned at what I saw. All of my tattoos were showing and it was such a contrast to the dress. I feel like I look trashy.

"Love, you look stunning," Oli said as his hand stroked my thigh. I'd obviously said that out loud.

"But my leg sleeve looks so out of place with this dress and the shoes," I pouted.

He gently hit my leg, "You. Look. Beautiful." He said each word separately to make his point clear. "And besides, almost everyone there has tattoos, you'd look weird without them."

I giggled as he parked the car. I rushed out and sprinted into the church to find Jess already ready and looking a beautiful as ever.

"Jessica... you look stunning," I said as I hugged her softly.

"Meow, you too," she laughed. "Look at that leg," she pointed out giving me a thumbs up.

I laughed as I surveyed my surroundings, people were already here and I could see Jaime standing up at the front laughing with Vic. That's when I saw him. He had a little boy in his arms that he was rocking back and forth. He looked so happy as Sarah walked up and beamed at him. There was a twinkle in his eyes again, I smiled at that. Even if it was for Sarah and his baby, at least it was back.

"He's actually really happy," Jess whispered as she also looked at Tony.

I sighed, "I believe that."

The music began to play and that was our cue. I carefully lifted her train so that it would drag all along the floor and as she walked elegantly down the isle I actually began to cry. It was quiet but still crying, none the less. I looked into Vic's eyes and smiled. Mike, Tony, Sarah and Oli were in the front row. Oli was on Jess' side while the the others were on Jaime's. I tossed a wink in Oli's direction and nearly laughed when he did the same but stuck his tongue out at me.

I turned my attention back the cute couple and I was surprised to find them at the kissing stage. There were loud cheers and whistles and of course there were a few tears. Jess and Jaime walked out first and then Vic linked his arm with mine and we walked out together. We were all laughing when we got out and were soon joined by Tony, Sarah, Mike, and Oli.

"Well guys, half of us are married now. 4 of the 8," Jaime pointed out to all of us.

We all laughed until Oli dropped to one knee, "I'm hoping 2 more are getting ready to follow." He looked me in the eyes and flashed a giant smile as he reached into his blazer pocket. "Charlotte Grace Daniels, I haven't known you since high school and I haven't known you like this for years but I feel like I've known you my whole life. You're brilliant, funny, sexy, you rock my world. You make me realize that there is still something worth fighting for in this world. I love you so much, would you please do my the honor of becoming Mrs. Sykes?"

My jaw dropped in disbelief and so did Tony's. I couldn't believe this was happening, it's too soon for this. I mean yes, I care for Oli but I can't just say yes when I don't feel the same way. "Oli...."

"Carly, just let it go. Let the weight fall from your shoulders. We work well together, we have the same interests, we blend so greatly. We've become Carly and Oli, we're no longer on our own. I know it's only been 4 months but I'm sure that you're the one," he begged.

The ring was gorgeous, it was a black gold band with small diamonds lining around a large blue, princess cut diamond in the middle. I sighed and wiped the tears from my eyes, "Oli I am so sorry but I'm not ready for marriage again. I've rushed into that road before and it didn't exactly end well. You'll come home in 5 years and find me in bed with Jordan," I said as I let out a hurt laugh. "Oli I care for you, deeply, but I can't marry you right now." I closed the little black velvet box and ran away as fast as I could.

I made it outside and ran down a small side street before I collapsed and silently sobbed to myself.

"Well well well, what have we got here," a man, a little older than myself slurred.

"Looks like we got an unhappy wedding goer," another said behind him.

"Maybe we should cheer her up," one said as he pushed his way to the front with a large, creepy grin plastered to his face.

I stammered, "I uh, need to um, be going back to my uh friends."

I felt a blow to my cheek, "You're not going anywhere, slut."

I closed my eyes as I got ready for what was about to happen. One by one they took turns violating me and when the other 2 were waiting they continually beat me and one used a knife to tear at my tattooed skin. Tears were streaming down my face in to the mixture of dirt and blood. I heard the last one zip his pants up and give me a couple more blows. As one of them left he used all his force to shatter my cheek. I heard the bones crack and instantly pain shot through every inch of my body. They laughed as they walked away and left me there to bleed.

I winced as I got myself up, my heels were broken but I walked on them anyways. I made my way to where the reception would be. I knew it was literally just down the street and I could make it. I had to. I needed someone to drive me to a hospital or at least get me cleaned up. I approached the small bar that Jess and Jaime had selected and rented out for the evening. I noticed Mike was outside with a cigarette between his lips.

"M-ike," I choked out.

His head shot up and the cigarette fell to the floor as he rushed to my side just as I was about to fall. I looked up at his face and noticed it was full of worry. It made me feel quilty for doing this. I mean if I hadn't run away this wouldn't have happened and then I wouldn't have turned up like this.

"Ch-Charlotte, hang on," he stammered. "You're going to be o-okay, I promise," he was tearing up but he was trying his best to keep it together.

I picked me up bridal style and gently placed me in the passenger seat of his car. I smiled as he continued to talk to me but I felt myself going weak. He ran back into the bar and soon returned with Vic, Oli and the one person I never expected to rush to my aid. Tony.

"Oh baby, what have they done to you," he cried as he gently held my hand.

"T-tony, I'm so s-sorry," I choked a reply back to him.

He started to say something else but my whole world went quiet as the darkness consumed me. I guess Oli was right, the weight was rolling off my shoulders. It felt... nice.
